In fairness mods, I remember some posters called me Mao or used some other racist phases that I cannot recall. It's just as bad.

I agree such phase shall not be used even we dislike and not agree with the Martinez regime.

We try and stamp it out mate but it is impossible to read every post. Please report any further such posts.

Let's say Lukaku agrees to stay for arguments sake, what signings considering our mangers track record, would push us onto competing for a top four position. Most would agree that our defense has been the weakest link all season. Even though we have players who are regular internationals. Wasn't last season the same conundrum, yet still the obvious gaps were not replaced. A new goalkeeper, someone to replace our departing centre backs. My concern is that, given another pre-season Martinez still wouldn't rectify these problems, so I can't see how giving another summer to him, will change that. My gut feeling is come next October we'll be in exactly the same position as we were the year before. Wouldn't it be more prudent to hire someone who knows that winning teams build from the back? Then let that person spend the money.
I don't think Rom will want to leave but also we do panic and forget it's not his decision and he's not a sulker. We also don't know what certain players reaction to Martinez going would have on the current squad. We're assuming someone will come in and organise them better at the back but we don't know and we don't know how popular Martinez is with the players. I'd suspect very popular with a lot of them.
Just feels like a lot more potential negatives to rocking the boat than positives right at the moment.
I've been calling for the centre half and keeper situation to be sorted for three years. I think it has cost us points but I'm not gonna argue with most of the players he's brought in so maybe he is always focused on the long term rather than firefighting. Something that makes me very nervous but some of the gaps have been filled now and we could be about to see the benefits.
As far as a spending spree goes I don't see it happening. Too many recent warnings out there for anyone to think that's a great idea. I think we'll continue a transfer policy similar to recent years but just have more clout. But I don't think his transfer dealings have been something we should worry about too much anyway.

Agreed. I'd like also to make it fair to all sides by asking for a ban on the insults to the manager please like coco, el fraudo and Catalan clown.

It also makes me cringe as blue hearing nuggets use these terms. Usually twenty something wools.

It's not right to discriminate others or use phases to label other posters/people. Absolutely. Perhaps you can be a good role model by not labelling posters (you did that in the past right? I apologise if that was not you but I remember someone said that in the forum), saying they are under 30 because they share a different opinion as your alleged assumption is somehow unfounded.

His press conference`s are all very similar. I do not watch them anymore as he will be assessed by his teams results on the pitch and not what he says. This is infact what he is being judged on, its like he does not understand that his style of play leaving us open at the back for exploitation in the last 10-15 minutes is costing us.
I hope the takeover shakes him up a bit, as the EFC job would be a huge pull for quality managers. Likewise the players are not unreplaceable anymore
we can attract and compete with the others in the transfer market. I would wait and until summer to assess all, it will be interesting to see what Moshiri does though.

Play a pressing game and his entire team will change for the better; that's all I want. Stop the attacks at the earliest opportunity, not 25 yards from goal

thats one of the baffling things about his team, for someone that supposedly loves having possession he doesnt seem to give a monkeys about winning it back until after the oppostion have had a shot.

I think this idea he is obsessed with possession is an outdated one mate. It's lazy criticism because since last season RM has looked to adapt his style to be less possession based.

The problem as you said is our front line don't press out nearly often enough. When they do we usually look a real threat.

Fair comment. If Moshiri is gonna to move him on it will be end of season. Meanwhile, if Martinez can win the cup or get 7th then surely it will buy him time.

Interesting, though obviously that doesn't take into accounts times we have thrown away leads such as vs Stoke.

To add to this - we have only not won three times from a 2-0 position.

vs Bournemouth (our fault), Chelsea (would have if not for the officials) and against W.Ham.

Just adds a bit of perspective in terms of 'throwing away 2 goal leads'

Worry is they have all happened this season.

Stats stats stats. First of all how many of them are against premier league opposition? Even with Martinez at the helm I wouldn't expect us to throw two goal leads to lower league sides. Then it hasn't includes games where we've drawn after being 2 up (just as bad really). You've only included games from this season, off the top of my head there's also the Arsenal home game last year.

The only stat I look at is 12th in the league. And it's all down to our goals conceded. We are doing everything we should be doing at the other end.

Thats not just this season, would imagine that stats over his 3 years with us
