I also remember DAVID MOYES breaking Cahill going to New York before there was even any sort of links away.

He got 3 or 4 things spt on well before there was even a rumour going around of it, makes the way he got jumped all over even more sad actually, the fact he had shown he wasn't a bs'er

Hahaha, no, I think some people thought he was I AM YAK or something like that on kipper.

The lad got a few things right then called the McArthur thing "wrong", I say wrong, his info wasnt incorrect, he was at FF, but he wasnt signing, so sadly he got ribboned for that, damn shame.
It is (sad that honest attempts at sharing get discouraged) - I used to post on Kipper and I think Sheedy was the really good ITK. Not sure why anyone would have a pop at someone if something is wrong. It happens - It doesn't take long to identify those on the wind-up vs. those that are being genuine.

There was someone who setup an account on Kipper who let everyone know that the medical staff had gone to Germany for a medical with Russian winger, they were an intern or temp or something. Then that utter tripe talker Sheedy tried to pass off (again) being in the know and named some random lad who had been linked in the Echo, doing his usual bandwagon jumping.

Got it totally wrong and we signed Bilyaletdinov.

Martin oneill evens with Bet Victor. Jesus, would have to be decent money gone on that somewhere. He was nowhere the other day.

Still bullcrap obviously

That's the problem with the whole ITK , things are incredibly fluid and then those with info get run out of town. When reading a football players autobiography will illustrate just how much positions could change in a matter of hours.

DAVIDMOYES was a brilliant source but he was in and out like special forces just leaving his info behind whereas bluefox would be involved in chatting and various debates. For me he was about the best regular source on Everton stuff out there .

No mate, Sheedy was one of the biggest liars going, a total and utter fantasist. Swore blind that Shearer was getting the Cardiff job, Martinez was getting the Villa job etc etc.

Sheedy's "source" was a friend who was an agent who mostly dealt with players in and out at Stoke. He often made references to players he heard we were in for, but from memory never actually called a single thing right.

I'm going to be unpopular here, but he'll go down as a success for me. I'm not going to use stats because you can find good ones and bad ones (quite a lot) for Martinez.
Since he's been here, the whole clubs mindset has changed. We've went from Moyes and Neville and their top 10, 40 points comments (even Steve Round today on SSN mentioning us grinding out a 0-0) to us now with a squad that on its day, can match and beat most in the league. The fans' ambition has increased to believing we can be seriously successful - get champions league - people believed we could have won the Europa last season. Of course thinking and actually doing it is completely different, but Martinez's positivity, attacking style of play and his squad he's built has got us believing we can go on to better things. Moshiri has also raised our hopes and I'm not going to say Martinez is the reason he's here because he's not, it actually makes me realise what Martinez can do with Moshiri's millions this summer (if he's here).

I'll give an example in case it looks like I'm talking out of my arse. Does anyone remember the candidates to replace Moyes, and the bookies favourites? They were the mighty Phil Neville, Niel Lennon and Alan Stubbs. If anyone mentioned a Mourinho type then, you'll get called mad. Now the favourites to take over Martinez is Joachim Low, Pellegrini, and Mourinho has been mentioned. That's a huge difference in the calibre of managers and I'm not saying Martinez is 100% the reason why things have changed but he's part of it.

Another reason I have a soft spot for Martinez is the fact he gets Everton, he's a very classy man and has time for everyone. The thing with Margaret Aspinall was touching, and my support for him (and the 30 odd who voted in) is probably based on the fact I want to see him succeed and willing to give him a bit more time.

In my head, the above sounds logical but apologies to everyone if it's just gibberish. Also, I'm expecting people to disagree with me (and maybe some deluded shouts) and if you do, I'm willing to have a debate.

What a load of tosh. Everton reached the Champions League Qualifiers under David Moyes and consistently finshed higher than under Martinez. The reason he is under pressure is that he has been unable to match those standards despite having a much bigger budget. What made people more optimistic was the evening out of the playing field which the TV money produced in recent years allowing Everton to pay fees like the one for Lukaku. The only reason we are getting linked now with top managers is the fact that there is a perception rightly or wrongly that the new owner is going to spend serious money to try to turn us into contenders.

here is the problem with your thinking though Dave, you keep banging on about 72 points, he isn't getting sacked because he got 72 points is he?

he is being sacked because he got 47 points followed by 44 currently, as someone who wanted an end to the Kenwrigth era and was vociferous about how it showed our lack of ambition as a club mate, i will ask you this, do you want the club to continue udner the new owner the same way it has been under Kenwright? Do you believe Kenwrights way of dealing with managers is the way we should walwyas be as a club, do you think this should be his legacy as our owner then?

Or do you think under a new owner that we should get back to treating managers and the price for failiure should be like it always was at Everton pre Kenwright mate?

You won't answer these questions i know, which in itself is the answer i guess...
Two things:

I don't want Kenwright at all. I want moshiris money and like it or not currently that comes with Kenwright attached.

Secondly, the 72 points issue is not a moot beating of breast on behalf of the current manager. That total is almost certainly going to have to be replicated or even surpassed in order to get a CL spot in seasons to come. That's why it's important to point out that if any new manager falls short of a much less well funded manger's total (which is what the situation will be) then there's only one outcome: they have to go.

Any new boss will have support from me for the first season in the sense that I'd never call for his head after 12 months unless they were an utter disaster. But at the end of that first season I'd see fit to make a comment on them as to whether they were shaping up as a manager who can bring success....and they BETTER be showing signs of achieving that success by the middle of season two or all bets are off and they'll face calls for their head on a plate. And rightly so given the experiences of Martinez who hasn't had the Moshiri millions. That's why he reached three season in the job...but that won't apply in the future.

In a nutshell: the "top manager" coming in has to show they can get a CL spot or very closely miss out in his first season or show convincing evidence that he can secure that CL spot in his second season or he can get out of the club.

THAT ^^^ is where we stand as a club now. Basically we need to now judge our well funded managers on the same timescale and basis as the other elite financially funded clubs.

Is there reasonable confidence in assuming that a decision has been finally reached? All we are missing is an announcement from the club and knowing after or before which match the departure applies from.

Do we think that Everton are trying to manage this as a mutual agreement for RM to walk away rather than being a sacking?

He did give some decent bits and bobs mind. Like the Pulis bonus at Palace, and Allardyce wanting Distin to bin his agent if he signed for West Ham.
