Martinez may be just the man to take us forward with the new investment promised. Let me explain - he obviously loves to attack and play expansive football. When we improve our squad those will be the qualities that take us to the next level. We Organisation and being solid only get you so far. The best teams mold the game to their strengths - they refuse to compromise on how they play, even if that means sometimes they are suspect defensively. Being a good attacking team is a good risk/reward proposition when you are looking to break into the CL spots.

I'd generally agree and also think a team who won't be able to compete completely on wages may still be an attractive proposition to a quality of player who will want time on the ball.
I think defensively they are going to have to improve though or confidence will go. May not take much more than people getting used to playing together. Or it may eventually mean a new manager. Personally I think the journey will be worth it anyway

As of this moment, Arsenal are now out of the FA Cup which is music to the ears. CP, Watford and West Ham/Man Utd are the oppositions remained in the competition and there shall be no more excuse not to win the cup now. For 21 years, this has to be the best chance to win a trophy bearing in mind the talent we have in this squad.

Let's get this straight, if Martinez leads Everton to win the FA Cup in May, which I feel this is a great possibility after Chelsea and Arsenal are knocked out then he is achieving the initial goal. Surely by winning the cup, this will buy him more than enough time to prove he has the ability to take the club forward, and to guide Everton to a CL place next season. The league form has been poor for two seasons. The winning rate is unacceptable and this great football club are underachieving as most of the fans would feel the same. Now that the new boss has come to power and the expectation has raised even further, pressure is mounting. Winning the FA cup will ease this pressure. And I think this will be enough to convince people to give him next season to prove he can adapt and rectify the defensive part of his tactics because at the end of the day, winning the FA Cup is the best achievement in over two decades for this football club. Next season Martinez just has to prove he can do it in the league in particular the further backing of the new boss.

I am sure all Evertonian will get behind the team no matter where you stand regarding the future of the manager. 2 games away from a trophy. Maybe, just maybe this is the time we are waiting for 21 years. All in all, I am happy to be proved wrong. Please just win the FA Cup Everton then most of the fans will have the reason to become devek.

I reject that position that Martinez has no excuses to not win the FA Cup now. How entitled can you be - and in a season when just about any team can beat just about any other. It's an arrogance that'll haunt us if we succumbed to it. Also, it's as if Martinez has none of the burden of history to secure a trophy that all his other predecessors were able to get away with carrying and failing with.

Can he manage us to a cup win? Yes. Should it be expected? No.
