Unfortunately there is cheap point scoring (at its peak after we beat Chelsea...) but I dont think this is true. Fans like Martinez as a person in my opinion and are desperate for him to succeed, but the results are what they are.

The league form away is fantastic, home form is abysmal.

But, it's minor changes in my view that need to be done not major. I think he is close to something really good, FA cup win would be fantastic and make up for the league performance for me.

Unbelievable that people are writing the FA Cup off as some meaningless trinket. I wonder how vocal they'll be if we win it...

Nobody is, just stating the obvious that it papers over what's been an extremely poor season considering the shambles from last year. The same problems exist, in fact the defence as got worse.

Everyone wants the F.A. Cup but it doesn't give him some magical pass to manage us for the future seasons

I do not disagree with a word you say. R Martinez will be here for another season at least. But I cannot mask my sadness at this reality.

Just a thought but does he ever sit down? It seems like he is always stood in his dugout.

I don't have the greatest amount of respect for his coaching staff BUT from a communication point of view I don't know how they can feed back to him if he constantly stood a couple of feet in front of them. He stands on the edge of his technical area throughout the match.

Alex Ferguson was arguably the greatest manager of all time but he would sit with his coaching staff and talk to them during the match. The only person who chats to Martinez is Graeme Jones a couple of times in the match.

What's really concerning is that he genuinely believes we are in a better place now then the start of his tenure. He had a long chat with my dad in Chelsea hospitality in their champions league game before our game. Said he was very happy with the teams progression!! I find that shocking. You can argue we do have a nucleus of a very good team under him, but a 17% win rate in 3 seasons is not progression where it matters
He's delusional.

He classes the results as largely immaterial to the football. He's always been self absorbed in that regard.

Everton is no ones vanity mission.

Even the way he stands is a source of dispute now. Christ.

I'll give you that, saying that though, he had it spot on against Chelsea, just got to be more consistent doing it though.

Thats his problem consistency, shame really as we have some very good players. Its weird how we can play great then terrible within the space of a few days. I hope we go and win the next ten games. For me I would take a 4 nil win at lucifers palace over the red scum, than an fa cup win
if he can mastermind a 4 nil drubbing of those bast***s on their home turf in front of the kop full of kopites, then he should be given a contract extension and freedom of the city all at the same time !
