Talksport there on Everton.

General summary: why are they so inconsistent? Good one week and all at sea the next. They okay some great foitball at times. What's happening with the back four and GK though that's wasting Lukaku's goal tally? Martinez will be given the money in the summer to fix that.

I pass that on not because I have any regard for that divvy station, but in order to underline that no one is arsed about our in and out PL form outside the fanbase. There's just no heat in the situation. In the run up to the cup game versus Chelsea there was media speculation....probably to get interest in the tie up...in the manger situation here. When that game was win they lost interest and there's no media mob anymore.

Long story short: there is a MASSIVE DISCONNECT between the preoccupations of fans and the industry on Martinez and his performance and prospects. Like it or not, that is the culture that informs momentous decision making. Yes there'll be the odd arl arse like Merson or Barton opening their grids, but there's no impetus for a change of manager at Everton. Not as far as I see in any case. Maybe Moshiri is lining someone up as we speak. You never can tell. But in all likelihood the attitude at Everton will be: "people seem to think he's ok and we play decent footy under him...and we're off to Wembley, so let's just crack on".

IMO.
lol

I'm not arsed about Arsenal fans wanting Wenger gone, doesn't make it any less relevant to the ones who pay their money to watch the club.

Your arguments get weaker and weaker by the week, Dave.

I'm sure having our worst EVER home season will be a big talking point, don't you?

As if I'm going to look up all that. All I know is each time you try and move the goalposts I keep proving you wrong.
LOL.
No mate, I'm asking pertinent questions so that the discussion can be had properly.

You can have half truths to prove your agenda, but your views are them diluted and hold no weight.

If you want the proper debate, lets have it. If not, no worries at all.

I think the job was to big for him from the outset. You have to be pretty poor to get relegated and he relegated Wigan. He must have thought it was Christmas when Bill asked him to come onboard. The biggest visible sign of his mismanagement for me is what he has done to Coleman, he used to be great, I would talk about our defence but we dont have one, just a vacant space .... bit like Martinez`s head in the perpetual post match defeat interviews. Its inevitable he will get sacked and rightly so. He is consistent in moving us further down the table, undefendable really

Haha yesterday you complained about the "plotters" quoting pundits who were criticising Everton

Now you're posting about the one commentator who remotely doesn't blame Martinez

You have low standards if you think playing decent football is enough.

He's had 2 years to fix the defence and failed. He's turned a £40m CB into a £5m max defender. Ruined jags, Coleman and baines. and now you want to let the man who thought Titus Bramble should be playing for England spend millions on defenders. Wake up

Loads of friction in our house, when they showed the league table after the City game, my lad just turned to me and said"Martinez has to go" then started reeling of a list of why he should be gone, my other half had to come in and shut us up because of the 'bickering' as she put it. thing is though, my lad is only 16, so he knows nothing.

There's more money in football now. Players get paid higher wages now so we probably pay higher wages than they did under Daglish. Can't be arsed finding the figures to back it up though.

Dave we could be sat 4th from bottom out of all cups for three years running and no one in the media would care about the manager - that doesn't mean us as a fan base shouldn't either, it also doesn't mean a man who just put 100m into the club won't care that we are badly underperforming for the second straight season running

Her is hoping that Moshiri has more ambition for us than talksport or rs infested media does eh?

Martinez won't start the next season as Everton manager and can vault me on that

Your son sounds very smart, mate.

TBH, based on the truthfulness of your posts I would check my watch if you told me the time so not sure I'll take your word on what Talksport are saying. The media in general are always a couple of months behind the curve when reporting on Everton so there is nothing to read into this even if you are telling the truth. I have also seen several articles and pundits stating that Martinez is massively under performing, that we are a shambles defensively and that he is under pressure.

One may say that @davek is being sneaky here though, quoting a media source that doesn't blame martinez with the entire intent of trying to get responses that slate the media comments about Everton, positioning himself niceley to vault people and setting up a defense he can use to deflect anything criticising Martinez that happens in the media, but surely that would not be being honest would it...
