What if we don't win the cup and finish just above the bottom four dave?

Not a martinez hater or fan but I'm a match going blue who is near wits end with some of the tosh served up
There's no chance of that happening. If we win the game in hand we go top half.

I do wish people would calm down and start looking at how weird this PL is this season. The points total we have is poor, but I wouldn't say any team outside the top 4 have a total that can be seen as good.

One of those seasons where we are doing a lot better in away games than home games and cups rather than the league.

Your fond of quoting the 72 points total Dave, heres another one, with 9 games left we are not even at 40 points yet...

16 home games, 13 away games played and 38 points, absolutely pathethic.
I'm not fond of quoting it, but if I dont resurrect it from Big Brothers vault of non-facts then it gets forgotten in all the irrational fumeage.

38 points is poor. Still, we've got those 11 games you mention to get another couple in order to pass the Moyes total of 2003/04...the season he was sacked...oh no, he wasn't was he?

Seem to remember our full backs were our main attacking outlet under Moyes.

You do see the difference positionally on how moyes covered his full backs joining the attack? He had his center midfield drop and sit in front of center backs. When Martinez has his full backs going forward the center mid are up there with them passing the ball sideways. One mistake and teams break. Put a ball out wide. With space out wide our center backs have to cover leaving them split and space everywhere. I like attacking football not kamakazi football

so how are Spurs able to play in Europa AND do well in the league? Your excuse last season was that it couldn't be done, yet here we are. Why is it one or the other?

*coughs* 72 points *coughs* 5th place....or was that with the aid of a few managerial skills Moyes left behind?

Can't help thinking that your blind hatred of the ginger one is clouding your judgement here somewhat Dave? - I suggest a cup of cocoa and a choccy hob-nob or two before retiring to bed for the evening.

Forum opinions, normally won't influence boardroom level decisions. The media influences them to an extent although not as much as you seem to think imo, otherwise wouldn't Man Utd have sacked LVH ages ago?

Forums might reflect more extreme opinions from either side of the coin, but the truth is at the end of the day, the board probably have many of the concerns that many fans do, just they're probably more considered and reasoned than most supporters will be.

I think you're far too confident in your belief that his job is safe, although many people who want him out are jumping the gun in believing he's on the verge of getting sacked imminently. I think if they're concerned about him they'll get rid of him soon after the season has ended. My guess is they probably have mixed views on him at present.
My view is simple enough: if it's business as usual at Everton, then a midtable finish and couple of SF appearances are easily enough to see him retained with a good margin to spare. If Moshiri is intent on getting his own manager in here then (barring a cup final appearance) he has the conditions to do that.

I have no reason to believe the latter scenario is in play and every reason to believe the status quo prevails.

Yeah completely fair comparison between the squads of 03/04 and now.

That's like saying Moyes shouldn't have been fired from Unitex because he got a higher league position than when they played in the second division. An utterly pointless comparison.

I believe you may be correct as to the situation.
