I admire what their manager has done. I dont like their way of playing. It's 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.

I still dont know how they've gotten away with it. Hopefully Spurs catch them. They're an embarrassment for English football. I;m not being a snob about it, but they are a terrible team to watch. The only thing people see in them is the actual spectacle of these players picking up points off teams by hook or by crook.

It aint pretty. You know it and I know it.

Yes you are. And that's what I find embarrassing.

You dislike them because they've proved you wrong time & again.

There's nothing wrong with their brand of football - it's getting results; and results matter, otherwise everyone'd be backing martinez.

They're not.

No mate.
I'm saying I don't enjoy watching Leicester. I'm saying if there is a chance that, with patience, our style can mean success then I'd rather perservere and find out. I'd rather do that than play like Leicester.

I've pretty much repeated my previous post but in different words.

Hope this clarifies.

What style? We dont have a style, the players barely know what our style is meant to be.

2 bottom half finishes suggest that this "style" we are meant to have, is utterly horrific.

You're trading real success now for potential success in the future (that we have given absolutely no indication of even moving towards)

Are you saying you would swap a LEAGUE TITLE for Roberto's promise of a bright future?

You should take the season as a whole. If you focus on the PL then you'll just see midtable consolidation, of course.
I am focusing on the league as a whole. Yes FA Cup success would be great, but it still wouldn't dilute the other poor matches we've faced.

I totally agree that our goal should be to win a trophy; the problem here is I would like it to be the Premier League, a European and domestic cup.

Under Martinez I can only see one of those three criteria even nearly being met - although that is still not within our tangible grasp to be fair.

Perhaps winning the Championship would fulfil your criteria of snatching a trophy hay?

How much patience does the man deserve? What he's doing is not working, two seasons of the same crap can tell you this.

Be a decent benchmark to set, for sure. Just remain unsure if Martinez has demonstrated he can do it again. Or even get close. Too much evidence to the contrary is stacked up now Dave.

Like the bloke, admire his ambition to play the way we do (at times), but that blind spot is just not going away. Thought it had, last winter, but no. Gave us a fantastic season, a terrific EL adventure, and has delivered some great players.

So for me, with a very heavy heart, it is thanks mate, but it aint working out. The positives he has are holed by the negatives. Shame.

And I would honestly be delighted if this gets vaulted.

Your opinion mate, and are entitled to it. Not for me though. It's a conclusion based on three seasons when we got a PL points record; followed by two seasons where we've slipped back to midtable but in this one have been very competitive all season and in the cups in particular.

How any Evertonian is concluding from that mixed bag that a manager isn't working out beggars belief. A higher return than that is certainly not a criteria that's needed to be achieved in the past for our managers to keep their job, so why should it be now?

I just see all this as a fever mate. Where were these bold unavoidable conclusions after the Chelsea game? Where was your statement to that effect then ? Nowhere to be seen. So, why after a loss to Arsenal do you arrive at the conclusion now?

It's the lack of consistency that puzzles me. If people had said post Chelsea game: "that's it, he's got to go, had enough regardless" you could acknowledge that as something more than opportunism.

The absolute state of some of the comments in here. Rather not win the league because of the style of football, jesus wept. Almost as bad as saying they'd be happy with relegation under him as long as trophy was delivered.

It's a new low in our fan base
