"he lacks the ability to organise a team defensively, and improve individual defenders." - 39 goals shipped in season one slightly contradicts that view; and 'he's failed to improve defenders', not a view that his contemporaries share otherwise John Stones wouldn't have gone quick smart through the ranks to become an England international, and he's added something to Jagielka's game that almost certainly has prolonged his international career.

The skill set argument can be used against just about any manager - something reached for here to justify an impatience with backing a manager contracted until 2019

(i) does the team have greater belief today than 3 years ago?

Would you say that the belief of the team is improving or deteriorating as this season progresses?

(ii) what evidence is there that the team has acquired greater tactical awareness and flexibility over the last 3 years?

What evidence is there that the team has acquired a greater ability to adapt tactics during the course of a match resulting in a positive outcome at the end of a games or games?

(iii) our defensive record (Premier League - goals conceded):

2011/12 40 goals 1.052 /match (Moyes)
2012/13 40 goals 1.052 /match (Moyes)
2013/14 39 goals 1.026 /match (Martinez)
2014/15 50 goals 1.316/match (Martinez)
2015/16* 41 goals 1.414/ match (Martinez)

The evidence is there Dave, we do not possess a manger with all the necessary skills to challenge consistently for the top 4 places.

No it isn't it is actually average - ALL THAT DOESN'T MATTER AS HE ISN'T GETTING SACKED ANYWAY
we are set to finish in the bottom half of the league for 2 seasons on the bounce - THAT DOESN'T MATTER, WE MAY AS WELL FINISH 18TH THAN IN A TOP 6 EUROPEAN PLACE
but we are going backwards in every department - YES BUT WE GOT 72 POINTS 2 SEASONS AGO WHICH WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING IN FOOTBALL EVER! EVEN BETTER THAN LEICESTER WINNING THE LEAGUE THIS SEASON AS THEY ARE AN ALEHOUSE TEAM.

that last line is depressing

Everton that....waiting years to get some real backing in the boardroom and when it does happen nobody trust the bell in charge to spend it wisely
 
We need to do what the Kopites would do organise a good old fasioned protest. Burning Spanish flags in the streets and uploading videos to youtube, avoiding any form of Spanish food, booing Deulofeu as to get a message across to his landsman-. BOOOOO

There's a difference between using the term "plotters", which has become a rather hilarious staple of this forum, and calling Martinez a fraud and all the other various names aimed in his direction, often with genuine vitriol.
