I think most would see him as a safe pair of hands on that score. Give RM £40M net of cash and we'll see it triple in value in a couple of seasons.

Better in the market place than Moyes, and he was good too.

You never get full value for players after relegation Dave

In his time here Martinez has shown he can do what Moyes did (buy qulaity dirt cheap) but more than that he can buy huge and it's still an invstment.

Moyes did the cheap stuff over time, credit where it's due. But Martinez has proven more of a wheeler dealer across the price range in the time he's been here.

I can't agree at all. His one big signing has been successful, and then the success of the likes of McCarthy, Deulofeu and Mori are all easily annihilated by the success of the likes of Arteta, Fellaini, Lescott, Jagielka, Baines and Coleman. The truth is that the likes of McCarthy and Deulofeu aren't the mega-players that some people make them out to be.

Maybe in an alternative Universe, but not on planet earth.

martinez biggest flops were kone and alcaraz

moyes were koldrup and bily...ALOT worse both in cost and quality

every other Martinez buy has been a success...his hot rate is a lot higher than moyes

you are allowed to say Martinez is good at some stuff and moyes is bad at some stuff you know..

All swiftly moved on at decent prices so further investment in the squad could take place. Moyes was not perfect, and I'm advocating replacing Martinez with a manager superior to Moyes, but to suggest Martinez has been better than Moyes in the transfer market is just not accurate. Not even close.

I don't think you can question martinez in the transfer market, but you certainly can how he has got them performing.

Moyes signed better players than all the players that you list bar Lukaku. Lescott and Jagielka actually were phenomenal and were of a better quality than anything Mori has yet shown. Arteta was miles better than any midfielder we have right now. Baines was world class under Moyes. Stones was bought by Moyes. Cahill, Yakubu, Johnson and Fellaini were all good players who never required excuses to explain consecutive bottom half finishes.

Moyes didn't manage to finsish below 8th place at a time when he didn't sign a first team player for two and a half years, and when we were repeatedly bottom of the net spend league. The idea that Martinez is at anywhere near the same disadvantage that Moyes was just because he has actually been given 10's of millions to spend, and because the playing field has now been levelled, is totally preposterous.
Of those you listed there's only Cahill who he signed in his first two and a half seasons at the club. Which is where Martinez is now.

Oh.

No he hasn't.

Moyes biggest buy was Fellaini, we made a profit on him, same as we will Lukaku who is Martinez biggest buy. Only difference is that fees have gone up massively due to the over inflated market thanks to billionaires and sky money aplenty.

Moyes bought Coleman and Stones, Roberto's other 2 potential massive windfalls. He even got Naismith on a free, 8m back for him thank you very much Delia Smith! Oviedo at 2.5m, etc etc

Who could we sell that Roberto has bought for a huge profit apart from Lukaku? At the moment nobody, Besic, Del are still to show anything more than promise. Lennon wouldn't go for much more than we bought him for unless he shows consistency over a long period, Mori has potential and has done reasonable well so far, the same could be said of McCarthy. Barry carries no market value at all.

Weird thing is I know you are on the fish but I can't help replying ha :)

Edit: I actually forgot about Lescott! Nearly 20m profit after Moyes made a proper player out of him.

Hello friend I am pleased you are still about and they didn't cull you.

If we stick with RM we risk losing the one man at the club with the ability to see us into the champions league. Lukaku knows his manager now won't achieve anything in the league or Europe; if we want to hang on to the best goal scorer we've had since the 80s, the club needs to bin Martinez and recruit a manager that has the talent to make this squad successful.
