How do you think Moyes would have done with the same amounts of money bearing in mind the rise of transfer fees where a scott dann is valued at £20mil and Mori £9.5mil.
Also look at the players we had then + the ages. Moyes would also have had to do a major clearout....
Style of play has changed also as has the wave of youth signed in a short period.
Mori adapting
Stones and barkley developing
deulofeu developing
lukaku slated massively and now hero
besic and mccarthy both young
Galloway too
I couldnt see moyes signing the same calibre of player who are still 5+ years away from their peaks in most cases....
not in this timeframe and he never did in 11 seasons.
What's the red cross avatar for goat?I dont care how Moyes would have done, nor do I care how Vitor would have done, we do not have to imagine a world in which Martinez takes us from 6th to 12th, cos its a reality we are currently balls deep in Zatman.
He can sign better.Needs to grovel like he's never grovelled before to try and convince Lukaku to stay.

He can sign better.
The lad couldn't trap a bag of cement before playing for us; RM made him into an attacker with European elite after his signature. He can buy and polish another rough diamond.
Everton or any of its employees should never grovel to any player.Needs to grovel like he's never grovelled before to try and convince Lukaku to stay.
I think most would see him as a safe pair of hands on that score. Give RM £40M net of cash and we'll see it triple in value in a couple of seasons. If there is a massive transfer pot it's a massive gamble giving it to Martinez.
He might not be round long enough to bear the fruits if results continue the way they are.

Better in the market place than Moyes, and he was good too.

You don't have confidence that the guy who convinced Lukaku to sign for us twice couldn't pull off the same trick with another player in the event Rom or other players leave?
I'd describe it as mutual respect and loyalty. As any sensible person would. McGargoyle though - clever feller that he is - feels it'd be a good idea to insinuate an improperly close relationship, perhaps even of a physical nature.
That cant be right, surely?
Indefensible from a BBC editor.
Come again?
Dont think you followed the beginning of this.
Other than the players ALREADY sold what value was left in the squad other than the defenders left by Moyes and Mirallas who Martinez could have flogged?
In the entire squad what, 4 perhaps 5 of them? Thats poor.
Barkley and Stones werent rated at those amounts when Moyes left were they? They are valued at those amounts and possibly more because of the last 2.5 seasons where they have been developed.
Maybe in an alternative Universe, but not on planet earth.
No doubting he could get a few decent buys in, just a shame he can't get them to function as a working team.
Nowhere near the standard of Moyes yet and well you know it Mr wind up
