There you go again

And there you go again. You're insinuations you're being personally attacked are deeply personal and offensive and should stop or I'll start agreeing with you. And then we could both be wrong. And nobody will be left to tell the tale

Whatever you 2 are on about, can you both stop, or use the ignore function please?

It is very tedious.

Then your belief is wrong. We've never sacked managers for not 'consistently competing for CL places'. We just haven't.

We sack managers when they've imperilled the club's status as a top flight entity. Period. We dont sack managers for getting midtable and into the latter stages of cup competitions. Maybe you can provide me with a recent example of when we did though?

Rules of engagement haven't changed just yet...not until scores of £illions are placed in the hands of an Everton manager and he's fallen short of the type of ambitions that go with that level of investment.

Why then Dave did you want Moyes replaced, as he never had us lower than 8th after his first few years (when you backed him if i remember rightly) and when you called for his head we had never been in danger of going down and where top 8 comnsitantly and reache semi's and a final.

Using your criteria why did you want Moyes sacked as that goes against everything you have just posted here that i am replying too?

They've changed Dave because lesser teams are achieving more, and we have the playing resources to compete at CL qualification levels if those resources are used effectively.

You and I will never agree on this, so I'm going to stop here. We should be operating at a much higher level on the pitch, we've failed to do so for two years, the fault lies with the management team.

Lesser teams with more to spend than continental giants!

IMO, you've failed to make the case in a (recent) historical sense. There's a massive departure being made in your line of thought that somehow sees a couple of midtable finishes as grounds for dismissal (and that's leaving out all other competitive record for this season). The material conditions at this club haven't changed yet, but your criteria of what's now the red line is based on that material change.

I haven't argued you to a standstill mate, you've done that to yourself.

But you don't give opinions. I'd struggle to find any of your posts which are actually on topic and not aimed at other posters. Attack the post not the posters please

To be fair I think the argument that the number of followers one has on twitter somehow relates to the quality of your tweets is somewhat spurious.
In the main I agree, for example if it's some high profile footballer, a musician or even as I say a journalist from a paper known to all and sundry, but for a lad to have built up his reputation as a wanna be journalist with no backing just his content, I don't think it's a bad feat. He writes well and talks sense.

I think that's fairer, than call calling him a 'know nothing' tweeter, on the grounds that one simply doesn't agree with his stance.

He's a decent writer, with decent articles from what I've read who was a lot more patient than me over Martinez, which was probably fairer than what I afforded Martinez.

Not because of league position, that;s for sure. When I turned on Moyes (after 7 seasons supporting him, btw), it was because he completely failed to give any indication that he could win us a trophy and/or play attractive football consistently. I had no stick to beat him with about CL places. None. That was down to underinvestment and why BK got it in the neck so much...amongst other things. The 7th place trophy term was used to underline that it meant bugger all in and of itself, not because he fell short of CL football.

There's no inconsistency here in my line mate.

Weren't we asked to stop. Just for the record, my often stated current opinion is he deserves more time. And I reserve the right to change it.

... there there mate.

Incumbent manager with chairman backing, Wembley SF and Final beckoning. Its an uphill journey for you that one.

Best of luck.

Hello David I don't think this condescending attitude you are taking contributes much to the debate.

Let's all just agree that Martinez won't be taking pre-season this summer and have done with it.

How much more can be said on the topic that add,s value to the discussion? I am struggling here to be honest, for me at least the fact is that we need the major shareholder to clear up the clubs staffing future moving forward into the next season.
