Good point. He'll see how hard he's working to make sure we don't have to put Red Card Kev on the pitch again and he'll look pleased but wary we've not quite got there yet.

They see a team on the big Wembley stage and other big players there and the wags...and then sign...in a big hurry.

No player outside the PL are going to be remotely arsed about a team finishing either side of a midtable point. It's ridiculous to think they will.

All the desperate nonsense about 'another bottom half finish...it's intolerable lad'...big games and winning shiny trophies is what it's all about, not 7th place. That's what Roberto's had us in this season: big games - two SFs and hopefully a final.

Of course, that convinced all Villa's big players to stay last summer didn't it. How foolish of me to miss that.

You're living in an absolute dream world my friend

How's the League campaign going Dave, are you happy?
Home form is poor. It's all about the cups this season though. I said that before Christmas, tbf, and it's turned out that way.
Hope his been given a catapult where is was loaded and fired into the sunset never to be seen again
I dont see that as a real possibility. Odds you can get on RM not being Everton manager next season range from 20/1 to 50/1.

Yeah, Everton were in Villa's exact position in the league.

In his words...Players have dissapointed him.
He is in dangerous waters with that comment. He either motivates them now or faces gradual mutiny.

and he has disappointed the majority of our fan base with his crappy win rate and one trick pony philosophy! Mind you he did win a cup at wigan once so he can rest on that for the rest of his career and his amazing 72 point haul WHICH COUNTED FOR NOTHING.

:coffee:

You said that there is no difference in league positions unless you win something.

So you're now saying that Villa's position in the league meant Benteke and Delph left?

Please be consistent.

6) Managers on tenterhooks at Old Trafford
Romelu Lukaku seems to be growing frustrated by Everton’s lack of progress this season and no one can blame him for that. The utterances from the Belgian’s camp during the international break suggest he yearns for a move to a Champions League club. Everton had a chance to achieve that status this season but have botched it, and Roberto Martínez’s apparent defensive blindspot does not inspire confidence that they will make big improvements in that regard next season. So maybe Everton fans will just have to enjoy Lukaku while he’s around and hope that the striker uses this weekend’s trip to Old Trafford to continue showing his worth, ideally with support from Gerard Deulofeu. If Lukaku fires Everton to victory, there will be at least a week’s respite for Martínez – and fresh derision for Louis van Gaal and probably even for Sir Alex Ferguson following this week’s declaration of support by the Scot for the Dutchman. On the other hand, if United do what they have failed to do for most of the season by following up one big victory with another, then Martínez will find himself giving another of his outlandishly positive post-match appraisals.
