The full treatment

The EL has defo complicated matters too...something we wont need to worry about next season.

Big summer for Martinez coming up. I like him and his style, but there really wont be any hiding place for him if we're not comfortably in the top half all next season (after the dust has settled by the end of September).

Have we nominated which September?

This post has caused a bit of a stir from some overseas fans.

If you're intending not to offend other members other than the one quoted, it hasn't read that way to a lot of folk.

We can't be having a go at fans not going to the match when living abroad.
Groucho, hope you have seen my further replies- Cheese constantly states the fans are toxic, he wants Martinez out because of this and this only, and has repeatedly posted this throughout the thread. I pulled him up on it.

...in the DOCS defence think he only fired that at the one poster in particular to make point, besides, isn't the Doc an 'offshore' blue himself, so to speak, so genuinely don't think any big offence was meant...

Look at that, I've just defended....if only our players were so quick to do so.

GROUCH...I'm oddly confident about SUNDAY...d'ya think I may be coming down with something?
I was an offshore blue! I also later said I'm immensely proud of our overseas blues passion- I just didn't think it fair that potshots were taken at matchgoers.
I'm not too confident re: Sunday. If we win, I have to keep my mouth shut as I'm in the home end..

If we win the FA cup (a huge if I realize), do you think he should get the sack in the summer? Full disclosure: I think we shouldn't and if we get knocked out in semis or finals I will accept the arguments that he should move on.

It would be very hard to justify sacking him if we won the Cup to be honest

You never know though, both the Club and Martinez might see it as an opportunity to part on good terms

Martinez gets another FA Cup on his CV and can get another job elsewhere, and the club can wish him well and start looking at a replacement

They see a team on the big Wembley stage and other big players there and the wags...and then sign...in a big hurry.

No player outside the PL are going to be remotely arsed about a team finishing either side of a midtable point. It's ridiculous to think they will.

All the desperate nonsense about 'another bottom half finish...it's intolerable lad'...big games and winning shiny trophies is what it's all about, not 7th place. That's what Roberto's had us in this season: big games - two SFs and hopefully a final.

I really think you overestimate the cups value to foreign players and lets be honest that's where we need to look for top quality talent

It's his last thing to cling onto with regards to backing Martinez. Deep down Dave must know that this manager isn't actually capable of managing at the top level, however he's stuck so rigidly to his guns based solely on the fact that he's not David Moyes, that he'd look stupid if he changed his mind now. Dave can't bear the thought of egg on his face

Does any fan outside their own league care about the domestic cups? I mean tbf the FA has more prestige, but I wouldn't know about the winners in France/Germany ect. I do follow the Copa Del Rey as it's always on Sky and is often an el clasico.
