That sounds perfectly plausible to me, Mikey.

In my view, it is the league results which will determine where he is next season rather than the Cup.

If focus in the league is totally lost in the weeks leading up to Wembley serious questions will need to asked at the highest levels of the club as to whether Bob the man for the job.

He needs to be winning six or seven of these last nine games to A) achieve a decent final placing in the league..... B) build up momentum in the run up to the semi final and hopefully the final itself ......and C) to restore some faith among the fans, most put of whom are wondering where the next league win is coming from.

For the record, I don't see that happening :(

And I will go one further.....if we are treated to a repeat of the Arsenal fiasco over the next two or three games, I think Bobby will not be in charge by the time we go to the Pit and Wembley.

An indifferent or an average finish to the league however will not save his job, even if we win the Cup IMO.

Mate?

Potentially, I can't see Bournemouth beating City or Watford beating Arsenal but you never know. Swansea could beat stoke and go ahead of us if we lose.

True but another defeat against a broken team which in turn pushes us closer to the bottom 3.......well would be shocking.

...in the DOCS defence think he only fired that at the one poster in particular to make point, besides, isn't the Doc an 'offshore' blue himself, so to speak, so genuinely don't think any big offence was meant...

Look at that, I've just defended....if only our players were so quick to do so.

GROUCH...I'm oddly confident about SUNDAY...d'ya think I may be coming down with something?
As I said, I understand that but judging from the reports from other members, not everyone has seen it quite the way it was intended.

Let's leave that one now.

I'm undecided about Sunday but hoping for a win.

Dave will never give up his belief that Bobby is the man for the job!! He's playing the game with you all and winning, he will never succumb to the 'Lynch Mob' and will always come out swinging. Good on you Dave but always remember Martinez will sooner or later kill all our dreams

My only defence of Martinez was that I was hoping he would learn from his mistakes.

But then I thought on it a bit, he has been a manager now for nearly ten years.. he was with Wigan for years and is making the same mistakes with us as he did with them.

Maybe he is incapable of adapting or learning, I honestly just don't think he's the right man as it stands to get the best out of our players, never mind challenge for champions league.

I think we have better options for managers out there especially now.

I'm worried he will bottle the semi / final as it is he hasn't really come up against anyone strong in the cup (bar Chelsea) so it's worrying

Going against the grain here, but I think his comments today were decent.

He is being widely mocked for;

“We shouldn’t be afraid about losing players because financially we can compete against anyone in world football"

and...

"We will speak about individual situations at the end of the season but we should not fear losing anyone because we can compete financially against anyone. To play for Everton should be an honour and a privilege.”

I don't see what's wrong with either. His demonstrating the club are in a position of strength.

What should he say? We're knackered and he wants off?

Yeah all stuff we'd want to hear surely and would be applauded from anyone else.

And yet both Swansea and Wigan were desperate to keep him. And Liverpool desperate to get hold of him. That's a lot of people who didn't see what's apparently obvious
