Just relating them to balance out the predictions we may end up 15th. It seems pretty reliable. Good news?

....of course, when they're satisfied and applied I shall feel much better. If they ever are.

I just wish I had similar confidence in our upbeat & super-pozzy Catalan. Sadly, I don't....I'm not proud of that either BTW.

I just find him utterly unremarkable as well as being consistently infuriating. Ho-hum...

I didn't post the article to suggest it should really change anyone's mind about whether he is the man for the job. And was only joking when I said it changed my stance.
I just think wild speculation about how bad things can get is no more helpful than me saying we're on the verge of Champions league.
Personally I'm basing it all on guts

The line: "yeah, we might well win the cup and it'll be a nice way for Martinez to sign off. But it changes nothing" I can smell the fear off it from people desperate to close down any possible avenue for Martinez to remain as manager.

Here's the thing though: 'Everton sack manager after he wins club's first trophy for 21 years'...not happening really is it?

And if it did (which it wont) imagine the rod Moshiri would be creating for his own back if he toppled Martinez then saddled us with some divvy who spends his cash and balls's it up...he'd be on the run right from the off as new man in charge.
Unless Moshiri brought in Mike Basset as our next manager, I very much doubt anyone could outdo Roberto's records of 'worsts'

Man for man our team is better than Southampton, West Ham, Leicester, Stoke and the kopites yet the last 2 seasons we have been bottom half and look woeful.

I'm sorry but he's absolutely out of his depth for a club that has European ambitions and a club that hopes to move to a 50-55k seater stadium. I'm all for opinions and would never stop someone having one but some of our fans need shaking there heads if they think our fan base will accept this for many more seasons.

Sorry to disagree but the best time to judge the race, particularly a long campaign like the Premiership, is during it.

So you should judge a marathon runners race performance by the position they're in after 20 miles and not judge where they finish in the race?

Fair enough that people have no or little faith in RM, not sure I do myself atm but that statement is just ridiculous in itself.

I know a thing or two about marathon running having done a few. Best time was 2hrs 52 mins. In the marathons I ran, I was very careful to judge how I was going all the way through. Generally the pace you have st is the pace you finish at.
If a runner is doing 6.5 minute miles for twenty miles it is unrealistic to suppose he will suddenly development into a sub five minute miler.
Everton under Martinez, indeed any team under Martinez, win around 30% of the games they play. What do you see on the horizon that makes you believe we will suddenly start winning more than that.
I would really love someone to convince me that Martinez is the answer and everything's going to be fine. I wanted Martinez as manager, I thought he was a breath of fresh air, I believed he would make us an attractive successful side. I still want to believe that. I don't like this cynicism, I want to be positive but I am pragmatic, we rallied in the final games last year to finish top of the bottom half and this year we are below that. Last year we won 12 games out of 38, this year we are behind that win ratio. That is what I see.
I balance that against two cup runs, but I look at the team's we have beaten and outside Chelsea they are teams I would expect us to beat. I look at the number of goals we have scored and I am pleased, I am concerned that the person scoring those goals wants success and looks like he wants, away.
In my mind the negatives, the number of games we don't win and our league position outweighs the positives.
But as I said, I am open to be convinced that things will improve, unfortunately I need something to base that belief on.

Not my fault some of our fans are happy with bottom half finishes and see no different to finishing 12th than 5th. The same "fans" weren't saying this when it was Martinez who got us 5th 2 seasons ago I bet I wonder why...
Nope. That's not your fault. And shame on anyone suggesting it is entirely your fault
