i was reacting to ijjys obviously overreacted comment about how important it is to be 7th or something.. it doesnt matter so much and you know it. ofcourse it gives you few millions more than like 10th but blaah, if your season is like blaaaah and you dont get moisture out of europe or from the cups then ask a fan in the summer time does he get kicks out of 7th place. ...

This conversation is basically all becoming fluffity fluff taking a quick look at the table. No win tomorrow and the best we can probably hope for is 11th really. A losing run in April's tough fixture and it could see us as low as 16th.Staggering Finners.
May as well not bother in the league at all then eh?
I suspect Martinez agrees with you.
5th and considered genuine Champions League potentials is why Lukaku signed.
Good players dont sign for teams that just live to exist in mid table/bottom half.
His record at everton certainly doesn't mean we owe him the sack. In any case. The seasons not jäger yet. If we get to the final (and certainly if we win it) his record at everton in three seasons will have been better than ANYONE could have expected in that time given he's establishing himself and his own squad in that period of time.I've said this before but I'll say it again.
Martinez has underperformed and underwhelmed now for the majority of his Everton career.
If Martinez took over, say West Ham instead of Everton and did exactly what he did at Everton, signed some sexy players but they finished 5th followed by two bottom half finishes - nobody would be advocating him/have him on their shortlist to be Everton manager this summer.
Misplayed loyalty. He may present himself well, be a nice man, but we owe the man nothing.
I didn't say there's "no chance" - I said statistically there's nothing to suggest it's a likelihood. We are statistically likely to win 33% of our games at present - not the 90% needed to finish 7th and win the FA Cup.
That's a bit of a difference.

It's time to get real and get off that managers back. I sincerely hope that new feller isn't being swayed by the massive levels if entitlement his presence is prompting.
Third highest win rate of any Everton manager ever at 44%.Indeed. We have a 33%/33%/34% win/draw/loss record over a massive period of time now.
Any other club of our standing would have sacked the manager with that record by now.
yes. you know i want us to win every game. in not one of those fans who want us to lose that bobby gets the boot. i when you start to yay for the seventh place trophy then it has gone too far mate. jesus.I can't really understand why you'd be equally happy being 12th compared to 7th.
I'd be happier being 11th than 12th. And a little sadder being 13th.
That's how leagues work isn't it?

To read some of this stuff you'd think we had Accrington Stanley's boss in charge. Utter hysteria.

Sigh all you want mate, it's spot on.*sigh*

The lynch mob has zero substance for its mobilisation, it's just a recently found sense of entitlement on the strength of moshiris millions and a belief Everton can now take a short cut to success with his cash.
Moyes, Royle, Lee, etc etc......Ah, I didn't realise Mike Walker was the barometer of success for Everton managers.
