Three things that happen due to league form matter, going down, winning it and getting into the top 4.

It's been about three months since any of those 3 were last possible for us. So no, the league form as of now doesn't really matter to me.

...what a proud and devoted blue you must be then eh mate.

We could have won the league this year if we'd performed like what we should have capable given how the 'big' teams have played. So I get the frustration.

But any chance of the league mattering ended in december. Since then we've clearly realsied we can't do anything. given up and only turn up for cup games, so any new loss doesn't really bother me as it's not important.

It's just friendlies in the players eyes at this point.
And that is just the wrong approach.

Why is a league game not important? Our motto clearly means nothing now then, seeing as it's turned into "even if we lose it's good enough", seeing as we're in the cups still hey!

Absolute garbage mate, sorry. You play football to win games, and the league was far from decided at Christmas, we only needed to actually get on the business end of it and pull our fingers out of our arses and try to win games and keep results. There is absolutely no guarantee we'd even do average in the FA - we might get thrashed and exit it in the SF.

Some absolute tosh gets into this thread.

We lost 1-0 at OT (we usually always go there and win dont we?) and it could have been us with the three points rather than them.

But continue with the faux outrage. See where it gets you. Nowhere.

I think we all know that the key game left this season is the cup SF and I expect us to nail that and then lift the cup.

...and I bet there's a fair few here who'd be horrified at that outcome.
Shocking effort this.

There's an awful lot of wrong in that post right there.

To be fair, there is a lot of money at stake these days in terms of league placement.

Not that it really matters now that we have a rich owner.

2nd league defeat of the season.

What? Really?

Nobody thinks that if we win the fa cup that wouldn't be succesful. Of course it would be the best season since 1995.

But we're still 2 games away from doing that. Every year there's 3 fa cup semi finalist who win nothing and only 1 that does.

We've got a lot of eggs in that basket
.

Would you bet against us winning that final and then going on from there to win it?

I wouldn't. I think we're one massive result away from silverwate. The SF will define everything.

We're 12th and if we dont fall any lower than that by the season's end Martinez will be going anywhere. If we reach the final, never mind win it, he's definitely safe.

There's an awful lot of wrong in that post right there.

Nobody likes to see everton turn up and play like cowards. But we showed so much more fire in the chelsea and man city games then we have in 2016 in the league.

So we've clearly decided we don't care about the league, we're only going to show actual desire in the cups.

If we win a cup then fair play, it's worked. If we don't than it's utterly disgraceful and the manager should go.

It's the same as moyes throwing an anfield derby. Anything less than as trophy win in return isn't good enough. But I'm willing to let him try and get that trophy.

The man is so infuriating...

'There were two games within a game," he told BBC Sport. "Up until the goal, we were the team with a better tempo and we always looked a threat.

At half time, both sides had 0 shots on target!

"The goal was a very soft action, it's not up to our standards"

The same standards which has seen us concede 100 goals in the last year?
