Roberto Martinez discussion

We look more solid with FBs who dont bomb on.

I'd prefer Galloway and Browning rather than Baines and Coleman.

There, I've said it.

I'd prefer we left our forward play to be a mobile attacking unit chosen from Barkley, Lukaku, Deulofeu, Kone, Lennon, Mirallas (if he can pull his head out of his arse). The security of a flatter back four suits what we have going forward.

This is a lesson to everybody here.

Here is David suggesting we drop the 2 best attacking fullbacks in world football.

DaveK ladies and gents.

This is a bit confusing, Galloway certain gets forward, he looked like he was trying to pull us back into the game himself at times yesterday.

Seems a common misconception on here that Galloway doesn't maraud forward for some reasons, I really can't understand it myself, he's often our most forward player at times and has been unlucky not to score a few times whilst also creating chances and provideing good crosses in all the games he's played.

The only thing I can put it down to is the idea people have of him as a central defender playing out of position and not expecting to see him do this sort of thing so they brush it off or ignore.

I think it's because he makes a lot of runs but doesn't seem to get the ball as often as Baines would in the same situations.

That, and the fact that Browning doesn't venture forward as much.

For me, it's their size and physicality which gives us a bit more solidity. I'm not sure playing Browning yesterday would have made any difference though.

...and yet Galloway and Browning works.

Funny that.

Works?

United played a 19 year old striker as wingback yesterday, we played Steven fcking Naismith as left wing.

My biggest gripe with Moyes near the end was his failure to make use of the superb squad he had, Martinez has done superb work in the transfer windows and built an even better squad, but he honestly doesnt have a clue how to pick a side. I was looking at that United side yesterday and for a team that has spent around 300m it is bang average, they packed the midfield and we passed it around at the back.

Martinez is a little older than me and is supposed to be a top manager, yet how can he fail to see things I can see?

It baffles me how he can be so clueless.

Bang average team that's lying joint second and playing in the CL. They have players who can settle games in an instant and we played appallingly. It happens. We have defo been at the races this season though.

My point stands and it's this: we look more solid with Coleman and Baines on the sidelines. And we can still score without them.

It was just a poor performance goat. Get over it mate, every team has them.

Before the season, I'd have taken 13 points from that opening 9 games.

They are bang average and they dont have a single player with any talent whatsoever.

Oh im aware of how badly the side played, but if we actually set up correctly with talented players in attacking positions we could have steamrolled them.

And all this bolloxs about the bad start we had, I firmly believe we are better than every team in the league, the win at Southampton and the amazing comeback at West Brom dont gloss over the home draws against Watford and the vermin.

His grafter/footballer ratio is well off, which isn't something I expected to see when he got the job.

It's also more than a bit strange how he's treating one of the two reliable goalscorers at the club.

You believe we're the best team in the league? Behave goat, we're not.

Anyway mate, we've lost 2 games all season - to Man U and Man City. It's hardly end of times is it?

I think you're underestimating how tough this league is this season. It's shaping up to be one of the tightest I've ever seen.

Oh, and as for them having no players with talent, err, Schweinsteiger, oh wise one.

I think we have a better first 11 than any team in the league.

If they are played correctly with proper motivation.
