Roberto Martinez discussion

Are you suggesting that in the whole of the world, theres not a single player we could have brought in that wouldnt have cost a fortune and wouldnt have improved us?

United can outspend us, as can Chelsea, Citeh and Libpewl all of them were trailing Arsenal at the time, and they didn't deem it wise to spend money. Chelsea actually made a profit too.

I do think it's a bit sad that a win over the Champion of England, who we hadn't beat on their own patch for 21 years, gets him support for life.

He hasn't won anything here, is the point. Promising start but not so super promising that if do lose the next 11 games I won't be worried.

But you know I'm pretty sure that was internet hyperbole and not an actual opinion.

all about spin

I do think it's funny that we're really both no better and no worse than last year.

Getting rid of Moyes was supposed to either get us relegated or let us win the title and instead whether he's here or not has really made no substantial difference at all.

Makes me wish I had spent less time talking about him, really.

Its a pretty null point when all of those teams have spent around 500m in the previous 5 transfer windows.

Patience, lids. That's all that's required here.

If you've not found any of the changes under new management encouraging, then fair enough, that's your opinion. But I find that hard to comprehend, personally.

No, it's keeping it real. We beat United at Old Trafford, it was boss, but it doesn't mean that he can do no wrong, and that it has been concluded, without question, that he is the best man for the job.

I'm saying lets see how he does, some people are saying there is no need to see how he does, and that he is so good that they would still back him if he lost 11 games on the trot.
But you're not though are you?

Saying ignore the improved football is fundamental the previous way had 11 years of evidence to show where you end up Martinez has had 5 mins changed things and improved matters as outlined by others - undeniable.

Interesting you brought Moyes up in your previous post

Haha, I forgot about Mata, too. I understand your frustration mate. But you also know full well that we are not in a position to buy players for the sake of it. This was one of Moyes' biggest strengths, imo. Only if the right players were available for what he deemed to be the right price, would he make a move.

To name a few...

- Beating Chelsea with a team consisting of Jelavic, Naismith and Osman.
- The WHU Away game
- 1st half against Newcastle
- Winning as many away games in the firs thalf of this season as we did all of last season
- First win at Old Trafford for 21 years
- Dominating the game at the Emirates
- The emergence of young players such as Barkley and McCarthy
- And I don't care what anyone says, we've played some great stuff this season

They're all positives, but other than the win at Old Trafford and the emergence of a couple of new players, they are all things we have experienced in the recent past. I'm willing to give him time, but I don't think his honeymoon period means that his suitability can never be questioned, even if our form was to nosedive.

I'm most certainly questioning whether the football has improved. I find it startling that you think this is undeniable and not subject to questioning, especially when it looks like this season is going to be extremely similar to that of the last few seasons.

Ohhh, pre-emptively making up excuses to criticise him. It's clear now that you don't have an agenda....

People need to lay off Dymak.

He's not having a go at martinez at all, he's just preaching caution and taking exception to the hyperbolic point "we can lose every game we play from now on this season and I'd still love him".

Which lets face it, is ridiculous.

Opinion is subjective ,albeit being sometimes objectively derived (from the profferer's personal perspective.) i.e. "In my opinion , I have applied objectivity in arriving at my viewpoint, which I am now going to post on GOT".

Which is that I think ....er...um...forgot what I was going to say FFS! lol
