Roberto Martinez discussion

January could be a brutal month for him mate. There's a naive team out there that could do either way.

Suppose we will see.

We've got to give City a game in the Cup and I think we will, especially if Jagielka's back.

Chelsea and City away in the league are brutal fixtures in all honesty and the type of games we never do well in. Even Swansea at home is going to be a tough ask if they've got a new manager in.

The simple fact is that we've put ourselves in a position where we need positive results in these matches or you'll get people posting relegation threads on here.

I think it's quite obvious his point.

That Roberto can set the team up to defend away from home so it's not a fore gone conclusion that he won't be able to do so at home aswel.

I think we seen today aspects of that, the full backs defiantly stayed back a lot more than they usually do.

By heck a person that makes sense.

Barry might actually get a break on Wednesday. Or at least some shortened game time. As effective as he continues to be, our rotation over the holidays has neglected him.

Like Lukaku I don't see either of them ever being rested, they're too important to how we play although I do think Besic is Barry's long term successor.

I questioned his starting 11 with no besic. City will steam roll us if we play Barry with cleverley

We started an XI capable of winning today

The reason we didn't is because we gifted them a goal due to an unenforced error

The excuse rarely holds water with me, especially when we ship 3 or 4, but on this occasion I think it does

I can't put the failure to win today on Martinez or his tactics

We set up well, played well and gave away a soft goal

It happens

Are you sh1ttin' me? Seriously? It comes off the inside of the post, and fortunately rebounds out. Howard had that covered according to you - so why's it hit the post if he's let it past him?

The answer is he didn't have it covered at all. If he did - as you suggest - then he doesn't know his angles.

As for the second, it doesn't matter if it was a deflection or not - the woodwork saved us AGAIN. Indisputable.

Yeah, it did.

About time we had a bit in our favour after the last few weeks. And re his angles, on the first one, he did cover it. Just.

Actually, that sounds stupid. He didnt KNOW it would hit the post ffs, but he had his angles sorted.

You might benefit from a lie down.
Put some tickets in the bin then rest your head dude

Thanks for your concern dude. Why is it that Martinez who 'can't set up a team defensively' can actual set up a team that has only conceded 9 away from home? Is he any good at this defensive malarky or what?

9 away from home. Better than any manager in the history of our great club. Did we lose today and get battered. I dread to look at the result as I had 1-1 with the bookies and draw draw. Must have wasted my money. Think I will throw my slip in the bin along with my ticket for Wednesday.

You were certain we wern't going to win then

he's not lauding conceding a goal a game at away hotbeds of football like Bournemouth, Norwich and Newcastle is he?

Speechless here.

6 wins in 20 and he's still banging on about 'only' conceding a goal a game away from home.

But the people of Hull, they say 'yay'.

9 AWAY FROM HOME. The best of any manager in the history of our great club. Yes, 9 AWAY FROM HOME. Shall I throw my ticket for Wednesday in the bin? A simple question. I need your guidance.

If I was you, I'd see someone about my mental state, tbh. You're making no sense whatsoever.

What does conceding 9 away from home give you so much to beat your chest about when we've shipped twenty at home, and currently stand 11th in the table?

We got 72 pts and didn't get a CL place FFS, so what's your point? What's there to celebrate?

Oh yeah - 9 goals away from home....Forget eveything else - all other more important statistics are irrelevant.

ONLY 9 GOALS AWAY FROM HOME, KIDS
