Roberto Martinez discussion

I feel bad cos I just love watching our matches. Bloody frustrating, but, again, today, every time we went forward you could see us scoring, or at least getting an opportunity.

A misplaced pass here, and stretched leg there, we were in. Was convinced Rom or Ross would get a late winner. Ah well.

9 away from home.

20 (TWENTY) at home - with half the season to go. Your point is what?

Did we lose today and get battered.

Did we win today? Be honest with yourself, we were inches away from shipping another two goals at home. Equally, did we batter spurs?

I dread to look at the result as I had 1-1 witnh the bookies and draw draw.

Bully for you. I wouldn't have been arsed if I'd had my moolah 1-1 and we'd won. What I wouldn't do is crow about personal gain at the expense of points dropped.

Another from kipper its a kids fest on here sometimes

Better today.

Spurs are a good side in form, on another day they could have been out of sight - luck evening itself out...

Also good to see Martinez making some proactive changes at 1-1.

We've conceded 9 away from home. The best that a manager has done this stage of the season in the history of our great club. Why is that? I'm sure you have the answer. I await your reply. By the way did we get battered to day and should I throw my ticket for Wednesday in the bin because we haven't got a hope in hells chance? What should Bobby do before Wednesday to lift the lads off the floor considering their humiliation today?

I repeated it to myself. What happens now? Does Tony Pulis turn up and lead us to glory?

In all honesty I wouldn't sack him yet. The club are clearly the subject of a takeover bid, so now is not the time to be making such massive decisions, better candidates will be available in the summer, I don't see a replacement saving our season (look across the park at Klopp).

But it does at least explain why the locals are restless and deservedly so. Last year, the consensus was, Martinez deserves a season to turn it around, in part because of his fantastic first season. I'm fine with that, and i'm prepared to back him until the end of the season but without a stark upturn in form that is the length to which I am prepared to back him.

Them woodwork ones, from the telly view. The first, Howard had covered, in that he would have saved it if it was going in. (Christ, TH not getting a shoeing!). The second was a deflection onto the bar. Would probably have gone over if not.

And in a similar vein, we were inches, well a few to be fair, with 2 late chances, and 2 late Spurs saves from a winner.

So yeah, the 1st half, Spurs did a real number on us, but personally, I was watching, and we seemed more concerned with defending as unit, inviting them on, but they did play very well either way.

I really enjoyed the match.

If we want energy and combative football we may need to look at Besic and McCarthy in there..

Normally I would agree but Barry has been way above McCarthy this season, I also think the back 4 would be lost without Barry this season. He wants the ball all the time off them and drops back to interact with them a lot, if he wasn't there McCarthy doesn't have the experience or the ability to take the ball off the back 4 and start the play. I think RM will stick with Barry til at least April then depending on our position in league/cup he may phase him out a bit or wait until pre-season.

Take it you are loaded.
Put it this way we never won but what does that matter you seem very happy with another home draw.

What so we drew 1-1 and draw draw. My god I'll have to dig that slip out the bin, I read the first post and thought we got battered. Shall I get my ticket out of the bin for Wednesday or don't we have a hope in hells chance?

By the way you still refuse to tell me how we have only managed to concede 9 away from home.

I'll ask you again - What's your point?

I'll say it again - 20 AT HOME; with half our homes games to come.

Shipping 9 away from home has got us where, exactly?

11th place? So?

The best a manager has done has been to win us a league title, an ECWC and a charity shield, as well as get us to an FAC final in the same season. THAT'S an achievement.
