Roberto Martinez discussion

shpould we though is the big question, we take the shackles off we go back to conceding 4 against [Poor language removed] like stoke and such mate, he needs to get his head around winning 2-0, 1-0 is acceptable rather than go for massive wins all the time which end up with us being carved open easier than a cake by a fat lass
Well, I can see us going hell for leather trying to get a healthy lead in the games after Chelsea as we have a run of games before the derby that encourage it. It's more a question of getting the players minds right when they play the lesser teams and get a grip of the game scoreline wise. Martinez has said that they get carried away and possibly feel they can or need to run riot against these types of teams whereas there's a natural discipline when playing the big guns.

The last four games have put to bed the BS about Martinez not being able to set up a defence, that's for sure.

Just another post which sadly shows your hatred for RM
Tonight is a good point and ask any supporter in the Prem and they would gladly take a point at City
In previous posts it was asked that we shore the defence up, we have done this, but in doing this it will take some of our attacking options away.
Sometimes just show a little humility in your posts, tonight was a good night.

The team give what everybody has been asking for...
Spot on mate. It's pretty sad to see. Their attitude to an Everton team and their manager is poisonous. I'll never be able to understand it.

No Ian your wrong mate. I ain't Bobbys fan by any stretch ( and it's quite a long stretch that stretches back about 13 months ).

You csnt moan when he over attacks and then moan because he's tightened it up. We still had a few chances tonight to hit them on the break, played excellent 1st half. They came at us 2nd half which you would expect but we were solid.

Your out of order if you can't give credit for tonight's performance mate because it deserves credit.
Disagree. We are supposed to be this amazing attacking team yet city just comfortably kept their first clean sheet at home in the league since August. LOL. We shut up shop, a Moyes type performance that paid off, if it was a draw we were after.

I don't mind a lot of his posts tbh mate because I like some of his posts but like I said, I thought it was a great team performance with better balance and when we were under the cosh he changed it (probably about 6 minutes late for my liking lol) to try and wrestle back some foothold.

Credit where it's due, great point tonight.
I love some of the posts, but to not give credit on tonight's performance is disgraceful
I think your one word summed tonight up for me....balance
This helped give support to the defence and still let us counterattack

He needs to win more games. I like him, but I am not convinced until we win more games. I am also not too enamored with his substitutions.
Yes he does and I have been a critic of him. But city away is not a fixture that screams out we should be winning. 3 wins at home well that's another story.

It cant be both?

Lol.

Take a minute to think about it.

Well Howard played 2 out of the 3 games we have been tighter at the back, so odds are against it.

Like i've been saying, gameplan changes for the bigger teams, goes at it against the so called "lower" teams but we have been caught out, especially at home. I'm sure he'll get the balance

Good result, rose our luck but it's not something we've had for a while.

I still don't get his selection of Osman though. The man can't run.

Hopefully we'll sign somebody decent for that position over the next couple of weeks because Osman, kone & pienarr just aren't good enough and mirallas is riding Martinez wife and mother so he's out too.

@davek, mate Pelligrini is knows as being one of the most tactically inflexible managers around, it took a very good game from Howard to get that point, let that sink in...

Subs of Kone and Pienaar showed the lack of a true depth in the squad we have, martinez set the team up well, but the determination and grit we showed came via Besic and the knock on effct he has had, much like martinez doesnt deserve the flack he gets when things go pear shape he shouldnt get all the credit tonight either - he was flawed and it as i said took a mom from howard to get that point
Oh come on, this is churlish in the extreme. The team was set up well by your own admission, the GK he showed faith in gives him a performance...and he's still not credited.

Sorry, I'm not having that.
