Roberto Martinez discussion

I like many others nearly popped a blood vessel when I saw Pienaar was coming on, as I am gutted to say that he is well and truly finished. Didn't even begin to think how him being able to draw fouls like some sort of referee decision based magnet would break up play and reduce pressure on the backline, excellent substitute. Koné... meh, maybe not.
Using the full squad at a congested point in the season.

I'm glad Roberto has his thinking cap on and he's in charge rather than this forum's self styled Guardiolas.

Christ on a rust old bike. The state of this. I barely mentioned my opinion. I merely quoted accurate stats, if they don't make happy reading to you then I suggest you're argument isn't with me.

I guarantee you're only making yourself look silly by saying I want Everton not to Win to fit my agenda. Pretty much everyone knows that isn't the case. Only the ones who need to stretch the truth or to be honest lie would think otherwise.

6 wins in 21..... For months I have been hammered for not using his first seasons stats, I don't even need to use last seasons stats anymore. He SHOULD be doing better. No doubt.
Tonight was a good night and a good result
Your bitterness and your agenda against RM is clear for everybody to see, and it is embarrassing
Spout all the stats you want it just reinforces your disgraceful agenda against the manager
In the main most EVERTONIANS will be happy with the strong performance and the point we gained.
Sadly for some reason you feel it isn't..

He holds the ball up well...we were struggling to get any possession. I think both subs made a ton of sense.

I mentioned earlier. It may not be the case that Martinez is 'Defensively Clueless' it may and now appears to be that he simply is unable to find the balance. Very much all or nothing. Tonight was nothing, in terms of going forward but all in terms of going back....Stoke was all in terms of going forward but nothing going back. We have the leagues top scorer and were sat in 11th place just 1 off 13th. With this squad and this first team.

To be fair mate the second half of games have cost us a lot of points; thasts where the balance has been lost, seem unable to adapt to the oppositions changes, i mean at Norwich we should have been 5 up easily.

I was very very critical of him last year, but they have changed, gone is the boring pointless passing but in contrast its left us open at he back against the lesser teams and we have been punished at home for it.

But overall it has improved

agree, I suspect lennon and kone/mirrallas will start against Chelsea

its not like he WANTS to start Osman, its just that he's running out of options as we don't have masses of squad options...

You were complaining when we conceding; you're complaining when we dont concede.

Not sure where the exaggeration comes in like.
I'll dumb it down for you then if you're unsure....NO ONE SAID IT WAS A CATASTROPHE OF ANY FORM.

Also I said clearly to you earlier today that Martinez may not be able to find the balance between attack and defence, you may have forgot as that was one of those fair poinrs that you failed to acknowledge just like when the last poster said 'we haven't won enough games' you ignored that.

Exactly the same for me, overall it has improved ( since Spurs ) and there's a better shape and balance to the side.

He's wrecked my head Martinez for over a year but at least the last couple of games he's shown a bit of tactical awareness and I still think we look like we've got a goal in us.

Go to Chelsea on Saturday and do the sake as tonight and I can see us going one better and getting the win.

Classic Dave. Exaggerating to prove a point whilst ignoring half of the post he was replying to.

Textbook.
Ok saying we offered literally nothing going forward is a terrible exaggeration. There was the Osman chance two of Rom's shots blocked in the six yard box one where a Deulofeu cross was going for a tap in to Rom but for a last ditch slide by a City defender.

You always say you look at things fairly but tonight it's been a total neglect of all that was good about the performance and exaggerating all that should've been better.
