Roberto Martinez discussion

Disagree. We are supposed to be this amazing attacking team yet city just comfortably kept their first clean sheet at home in the league since August. LOL. We shut up shop, a Moyes type performance that paid off, if it was a draw we were after.

So what do you want then mate, revert to type and go gung ho which we've all been basically slating Martinez for because he's defensively clueless? Carry on regardless of results against a strike force that must be worth something like 180 million?

I'm.glad it was a Moyes type performance if that's what you want to call it because I can tell you now, a few more solid performances like that and we would be probably 3rd or 4th this season being solid whilst still offering a threat. The reason we are 11th is because we've played ridiculous kamikaze football when there was no need to.

He gets credit where it's due, he set us up to be difficult to break down and we were and we still looked dangerous on the break. Of you can't see that mate then you ain't gonna see many positives regardless because we ain't Barcelona by any stretch.

I really really want to back roberto and games like tonight help. But he still does need to win far more league games. 4 points from our next two games and progression in both cups would be a very good start. Obviously it's great that we are in both cups, but its equally depressing that they will make or break our season.

Bitterness will not let him be constructive mate
I stand by my comments over certain people wanting us to lose just so they can say 'I told you RM wasn't up for the job'
These posts by @ianefc prove his feelings and his agenda

Sad to be in a place where you don't want the best for the club
Christ on a rust old bike. The state of this. I barely mentioned my opinion. I merely quoted accurate stats, if they don't make happy reading to you then I suggest you're argument isn't with me.

I guarantee you're only making yourself look silly by saying I want Everton not to Win to fit my agenda. Pretty much everyone knows that isn't the case. Only the ones who need to stretch the truth or to be honest lie would think otherwise.

6 wins in 21..... For months I have been hammered for not using his first seasons stats, I don't even need to use last seasons stats anymore. He SHOULD be doing better. No doubt.

Spot on mate. It's pretty sad to see. Their attitude to an Everton team and their manager is poisonous. I'll never be able to understand it.
very sad and tbh not a position I would like to be in.
I just think I would call it a day and not go the game, if my hatred was at that level

I am more than happy tonight...

I like many others nearly popped a blood vessel when I saw Pienaar was coming on, as I am gutted to say that he is well and truly finished. Didn't even begin to think how him being able to draw fouls like some sort of referee decision based magnet would break up play and reduce pressure on the backline, excellent substitute. Koné... meh, maybe not.

I mentioned earlier. It may not be the case that Martinez is 'Defensively Clueless' it may and now appears to be that he simply is unable to find the balance. Very much all or nothing. Tonight was nothing, in terms of going forward but all in terms of going back....Stoke was all in terms of going forward but nothing going back. We have the leagues top scorer and were sat in 11th place just 1 off 13th. With this squad and this first team.
