At this level you cannot ship 3 a game for any consistent period of time and expect to surviveAre we seriously this arrogant? Like we are entitled to always play well, entitled to have players that always play well, that never have a loss of form or confidence?
Sweet Jesus it's embarrassing.

I wish I had your faith Dave but I view Martinez as an idealist who will not compromise any fanciful notion of footballing ideals in order to improve resultsWe arrive here after three key events:
Slow out of the blocks after a piss poor preseason
Losing Barkley
Failing to strengthen that defence when everyone knew we are running on fumes there
We can't do anything about the first, but the other two will have to be rectified before Martinez can turn this.
I can't stand his attitude here tonight, but I still have 100% faith in Martinez though. He'll get this sorted out, no question.
Asked whether he would prefer an impressive performance and a defeat or to scrape a 1-0 win, Martínez was emphatic: "Play well and lose, 100%, because this game is about us being able to perform at Old Trafford and being able to show to ourselves that we can compete with teams away from home eye-to-eye.
"Sometimes the result in is the lap of the gods; it can be a bad decision from a referee or a piece of magic from a player. We need to have a substance to our performance so we can take ourselves to the next level. I want to play well, be the better side and win. But I would settle for playing well, being the better side and losing. It's about the long-term."
Don't think it's any of that.
I know that one of the things (of many) that has annoyed me tonight were Martinez' post match comments. He actually claimed, I'm assuming he did so with a straight face, that we played well tonight. Absolutely ridiculous comments.
Its beginning to look that way mate another media darling, I really hope we are wrong as I don't think Kenwright has the balls to do the dirty deed and we would have to be relegated before he would even contemplate it.No chance whatsoever mate.
Mike Walker mkII is a fair assessment at this point.

I don't dislike Martinez and I hope he can turn it round but we must not be blinded by his charisma its a results business and he must be judged by performances on the pitch.

Yes, but that's what inspired us last season. He was always going to suffer a reaction in his second season. He made a massive error not getting at least two defenders in. But he's earned a period of downturn given the record number of points last season and the quality of football. We need to stick it out with him. There's no question he'll be leaving anyway.I wish I had your faith Dave but I view Martinez as an idealist who will not compromise any fanciful notion of footballing ideals in order to improve results
