Thats precisely why a number of fans are wondering why Martinez isnt dropping him.

His performance has been sub-par and also hes insulted the customers....

People are wondering why on earth martinez hasnt dropped him.

As i edited above, hes been escalating these comments for a while now -- i actually wonder if he wants to move to MLS but wants a pay off and so is doing all he can to engineer a move whilst it seems that he doesnt want to leave.

Im not sure what more he could do to push for a move other than handing in a transfer request and losing a pay off.....and dont forget with the "girlfriend abortion" story recently it was stated that he told her he doesnt have enough money to raise another child...

Someone whose apparently gone against their well publicized christian beliefs in this way behind closed doors could quite easily engineer a move away from the club looking at the pattern of events since the world cup.

Was it random that he suddenly put in a top performance against city when all the fans are calling for him to be dropped?

the abortion story ran in the **N and the Mail...He may or may not have done it but you're making alot of assumptions in your post in regards to his actions, his finances, and his desires. You honestly think he's had a go at the fans to "engineer "a move out?

Honestly have no idea why he makes these comments unless hes a total fool or wants to leave.

The abortion story was as far as I am concerned just conjecture and should be treated as such.
Howard's performances and rapport with the fans is big enough a stick to hit him with as far as I'm concerned.
Just hope he repays the manager's faith with some good performances, he's gone out on a limb in keeping him as number one IMO.

i'm just musing over why hes gone down this path and it seems that this story (if true) could be used as an example of his actions...

Ive no idea why he makes such comments and am wondering if hes doing so to engineer a move.

Its just so strange for martinez not to have dropped him nor really commented on Howards quotes in the press

@Zatara has made a serious accusation against Howard here again. Yet hasn't had the decency to put source quotes or links to the source here.

It's a classic smear. @Zatara should be horse whipped. Not just for this but also for his FM like threads where he seems to always want to sell half our team. @chicoazul

Martinez has my support to deal with things behind closed doors if needed. He doesn't have to do everything managing personnel in the full glare of this forum. Equally Martinez can't and should not try and micro manage every little thing that happens.

Well, just looking at isolated incidents:

1--Mirallas penalty cost us and fans went off the deep end as he missed basically. If he scored then no problem...he was in the wrong of course.

2-- Stones Cruyff turns in the box just worried the fans,thats all.

3--Howard isnt a one off, ignore his ability and performances and just look at the shocking stuff hes put on twitter or said in interviews and its 16months of annoying selfish quotes.

Other than Howard nothing major really, as a fanbase i think were quite passive when it comes to this stuff. If he played for united then it would be all over the press how he thinks of the fans etc.

If you look at the date when it went public about his slander of Friedel then shortly after that (disgraceful) episode there were various quotes attributed to Howard every few months.

These ranged from how much of a top player he is to how he doesnt care about any criticism all the way through to his latest "the fans arent professional footballers so i couldnt care less what they think" comments.

I didnt have any problems with Nigel Martyn whatsoever nor Southall even when he was playing on his last legs for us --top professionals.

This guy is an egomaniac and i find his comments insulting to the fans.

just had a look back to at least May of 2015 and literally every tweet is something positive about EFC, the US men's or women's team, his Tourette's Charity, and a few about his book. You're just upset because he's falling off as a keeper and throwing your squad median age wet dream out of wack.

His comments and backchat have annoyed me. The backchat might be case of losing with fans who are on your back but he needs to remain professional. His comments about how the fans don't understand was arrogant and shouldnt have been said as he just push the fans further away. Martinez got to take responsibility for this and he must buy a new keeper as this can't go on.
