Roberto Martinez discussion

Tbf it is always stated as a minimum of extra time added, the annoyance is that refs often seem to be inconsistent in whether they add any extra on again and what for.

Tbh having the timing done separately would make things an awful lot clearer and take away any suggestion of corruption - might also mean that we'd get 90mins of playing time as iirc it only averages out at 70 odd.

Even the minimum 7 minutes put up by the 4th official was questionable.

For those that say Martinez is awful.

What would you rather have?

This team or Moyes which got to 5th?

People cant address the issue that Martinez has literally had to rip up a team which existed and relied on one another for over 5 years or so. One which won nothing; acheived nothing and most wont ever remember them with any grace/passion.

This team..its in its infancy, as is Roberto's regime. Get used to it.

Its decades since we last won something; this is as near as your going to get.

It becomes more clear each week we have a good set of players but tactically they are all over the show.

We are massively underachieving and have been for a year and a half. If we're still languishing in our current position come May then I think we need a new manager. That's the first time I've advocated his sacking but it really isn't good enough.

1 win in 9, the last 3 wins against the 3 worst teams in the league. It's a bit of a mess. You can't help but feel we're doing the top clubs a huge service giving Lukaku, Stones and Barkley the type of experience they're getting this season. Right now I'll be amazed if we start with 2/3 of those players in August.

It's a huge opportunity missed and one I fear we'll rue for quite a few years.

Getting a draw away at Stanford Bridge after a 98th minute off side goal is the game that tipped the balance? Slightly surprised as there are lots of other games, even as a Martinez supporter, that I would have thought triggered such a reaction in comparision to this one.

Edit sorry, just read the bit about May!

think the point is they were good in that moment but you wouldnt have imagined them going on to acheive more than that, whereas we are poor with this squad right now but some of us are quite confident we can be more successful with what is being built now.

i guess we will find out either way, as he is here until the end of this contract at the very least IMO

Yeah, I'm in favour of him getting the full season. We were desperately unlucky at the end today but giving away that two goal lead so easily just summed up our season. This is a poor Chelsea team, they'll drop points all over the place until May, we should have been taking 3 points today, regardless of the ref.
