Roberto Martinez discussion

He wasn't roundly hammered though not by me or the lads I go the game with. We weren't happy but realised he needed time and even though he didn't have the positive signs Martinez has got we now, we were prepared to give him unless it became critically which it never did.

It was 7 or 8 years before I felt Moyes should move on, up until then he had done a very good job for us IMO. He hit a brick wall in his latter years and it was one I never felt he could overcome.

I have not reached that point with Bobby, in fact as someone who has just about seen the glory years, I've never been more excited about where the team is currently going than I am now.

I think he's a special manager and time will prove that.

Spot on. All managers need time and with a team like Everton (limited resources) time is of utmost importance. Kendall got it, Smith got it, Moyes got it.

Eh?

Didn't you want Martin O'Neil and thought Everton couldn't attract Neil Lennin unless he was in a pittance at Celtic? Suppose it explains your low expectations of our club.

Hypocrite....accusing people of not answering your full question....LOL

Fraud
What?

You wont have difficulty providing us with the details then, will you?

I dont either. My patience for listening to any managers post match comments died after two seasons of our last boss whinging.

They all spout pure nonsense, as a few ex pros have said. These interviews should be important only to the media and their ad revenue from clicks.

I enjoyed Hiddinks interview yesterday, was a joy to listen to somebody being totally honest.

Ok then....lost last 6 on the bounce and you were talking about positive signs.

NOT. A. CHANCE

I'm sorry pal, but some of us see the bigger picture and don't knee jerk or panic. Which is probably why I'm not carrying on like some on here who flip flop from one game/result o another.

I never said there was positive signs. We lost 6 on the bounce I felt due to having no edge cause our season was effectively over as even though we were on 39 points we were never in danger of going down. We inadvertently whete already on the beach and the manager was looking at things for next season. He would have learnt a lot from that season though.

Nope you argued with Brennan who said he wouldn't have O'Neil and although you didn't want Lennon you said we could only attract him anyhow if he was on a pittance at Celtic.

Crazy talk.

No expectation. Easily satisfied.

18 wins in 60....104 points dropped out of 180

And you're satisfied

LOL

..and yet no evidence to back this fantasy up.

Moyes had a God awful side though Martinez has one of the best squads in the league at his disposal.

This whole "young squad means inconsistency" is a total myth, Spurs are 4th 10 points ahead of us and they have Kane, Dier and Alli in their starting 11, alongside Rose and Alderweird/Vertonghan younger than Baines and Jags in the defence.

I like Martinez but his poor defensive organisation and sheer loyalty to Howard has me massively questioning him right now, I'm giving him to the end of the season as it's only fair but if we finish bottom half and no trophy then for me he's had 2 bad seasons and only 1 good which for me should see him gone.

Spurs is an example of a young side doing very well.

It doesnt change the general rule that young players will be inconsistent. I dont think thats a myth.
