It genuinely depends. A 22 year old may be more up for a scrap or think it's ok to mess about and not get a job/long term relationship, but there's plenty of exceptions to that rule.Just generally speaking, in any walk of life, do you expect a 22 year old to react the same way as someone who is 28?
Enjoying the debate though mate, btw.
In a work sense, I manage staff and if I had a 22 year old who had been doing the job for three years and a 28 year old who'd been doing it for five, I would expect no difference in the quality of their performance. If the 22 year old had only been there six months, then I would cut him some slack but after a point, it's difficult to become more experienced at something. You're either experienced, or you're not. Inexperience comes from situations cropping up which you've never had to deal with before, meaning you make the wrong decision. Once you've encountered that situation a number of times, you can no longer use inexperience or age as an excuse.
In football, that's magnified, because a 22 year old may well be approaching the very peak of their powers. Players like Owen, Fowler, Yakubu, Joe Cole, even Rooney to an extent were all on the wane by their late 20s so 22 isn't all that young.
