Roberto Martinez discussion

Some serious "Martinez Out" sentiment amongst the supporters outside the stadium today. I'm sure most will come back onside if we win on Wednesday, but it was certainly the most anti-Martinez I've seen a crowd in a long time
We do seem to be almost bipolar in our approach currently - manic if we win, depressive and catastrophic if we don't win, and this reflects in the opinion of the manager with a lot, it seems.

The knee jerking doesn't help to form a clear view immediately after a game, however I'm getting the feeling that the anti Martinez sentiment is growing slowly. Perhaps, with the knee jerking that football fans are prone to, will a good result in Wednesday swing current opinion the other way? Would it even dent the diminishing confidence of some?

Would signing a player (eg. Yarmolenko) make a difference to fan morale? Not sure myself.

Guys, there's no way he's getting sacked. It'll never happen, we couldn't afford to pay him off

If he didn't get the axe after dragging us into a relegation scrap, why do you think he'll get it when he's got us mid table and one game away from Wembley?

We just have to hope he keeps picking Robles in the Cups and that Liverpool don't win that other Semi Final

Mid table finish and a Cup win is not the end of the world

With a decent keeper from the start and an actual left sided winger, Martinez could probably get us doing even better than that

So after years of saying we won't settle for mediocrity, we'll settle for mediocrity. If what you're saying ends up happening mate, it truly will be a sad day in Everton Football Clubs glorious history.

unless there is a threat of relegation I would asses at the end of the season

If he gets us to a Final, it will certainly buy him some time even if the league form continues to be spotty

At the end of the day, the way the fanbase feels is ultimately pointless because there's no way he's ever getting sacked

....I'm not calling for his head but we are very poor tactically at times and my biggest concern is he doesn't seem to learn lessons.

Last seasons poor league position was blamed on our Europa games. This season the excuse is Tim Howard. What will it be next year? The top and bottom line is this team is under achieving. Martinez is failing for the second season on the run to get anywhere near the best out of them. Some of the attacking football is nice to watch at times but this is offset by the appalling work and mental ethic, lack of organization and non-existent defending. From the outside Everton look like a bunch of individuals not playing as a unit and to me this is our undoing. The manager is to blame.
