Roberto Martinez discussion

Enlighten me. What do you think he is saying?
"We are not a group that has reached a level of winning constantly yet. What we are is an exciting group with the best potential in years of winning something at this club. It won’t happen overnight and it won’t be straight forward.

You need to get through painful experiences to develop the know-how. We have shown signs that we’re getting really close but we cannot be under-achieving when this team has been developing only two years and we are creating something that will be very powerful in the future.”

Those quotes from today are appalling. This idea it's a young squad that's improving and developing for the future is nonsense. The bulk of the starting 11 have been playing together for almost 3 seasons now and a club like ours which gets regular approaches from bigger clubs for the top talent doesn't have time to sit in mid table waiting for things to click. Key players will be gone in the summer and although they will have improved under us, we won't have doing enough with them.

Stones - 21
Barkley - 22
Deulofeu - 21
Lukaku - 22
Besic - 23
McCarthy - 25
Mori - 25
Galloway - 19

OKAY MATE. X

Cheers for that mate, don't think he's said anything wrong there.

I cannot believe he has the nerve to say he doesn't make excuses. That's all he does. Referees, the age of the squad, the fans, general bad luck - he'll blame anyone but himself.

I've always said "he seems like a really nice bloke but i'm not sure about him as a manager". His recent comments have made we wonder whether that's true though. He seems like an egomaniac to be honest, and I think everyone who thought he 'got' Everton and would never talk us down like Moyes did has well and truly had their eyes opened. He's basically insulted the fans and the club as a whole in different interviews over the last few days, which is enough to see him gone in my eyes, even if the results weren't as apalling as they have been.

That's nothing more than a tosh sound bite intended to take the pressure off and buy time.

He'll have been in the job 3 years come the summer, how long's it going to take before he can stop us shipping poor goals?

There's no signs of that changing at all. in fact quite the reverse.

We needed to attain CL football this season to have any chance of retaining our star players, now that's dead, the linchpins of that side will move on, and we'll have to rebuild again. It was this season that he had to deliver, and he's failed.

Defintely this without a shadow of a doubt.

Ok thats what he said. I read that too. We have a young team who doesn't know how to win and are getting close, still getting close. Thats another discussion.

What I asked and what we were discussing was what do you think he means by "We are not under-achieving because we never won the title in last three or four seasons"

Quite simple. He is employed to win as many games as possible for Everton. This isn't happening because we concede too many goals. Can he change it? Not a chance in hell........get rid !!!!!!

He means we are not a team that has learnt how to win yet ,but a developing team of young players. In order to "underachieve" you would have needed to have achieved something first.

The full quote may be more approriate mate? Nothing wrong with those words to me to be honest...
