Roberto Martinez discussion

How does it? If pienaar plays 90 mins thursday and is knackered then I understand him being rested against Sunderland 2 days later. But he wasn't tired to play today then play most of Thursday 5 days later.
You said that midweek games shouldn't influence matches either side of them despite having just said you could understand if Martinez made changes for the Sunderland game following Lille midweek.

I like you mate but that was a silly post.

Apologises I meant the game prior to the mid week game, and it depends on the player for me if lukaku plays 90 mins in a HOME tie on a Thursday then we play a game on the Sunday or Monday then he should play both for me, whereas If it was a Saturday game and it's say barry were talking about maybe not.

But if we do let a midweek game influence both the top sides would never have their best players on show. Aguero wouldn't play in the manc derby sunday then would play in the CL Wednesday but benched again at the weekend against West Brom. Theirs a fine line when it comes to this martinez needs to get it right.

Fair enough mate.

Edit: Still don't fully agree but at least it's a reasoned argument.

Seemed a little unbalanced today from the look of the side on paper, only because we didn't have a natural left sided midfielder to make it so.

That said, still seems some on here still get a massive titty lip and can't wait to start the blame game as soon as a result goes against us.

If United lose tomorrow by a couple we go up a place, considering out start and EL games we won't be in a bad position.

The difference these days is this..

The goal always looks likes coming imho...eventually we do strangle teams to death and inevitably get the goal. Today was just one of the rare days we didnt.

Were averaging something like just under 3 goals at home a game this season so to complain when we dont score is quite poor form.

Like some of his players, Roberto is underperforming this season and has to get his act together quickly. So many things need reassessing. But one thing he's got to do is back his judgement over spending £24m on Lukaku. The lad will not improve any if he's popped in and out of the team. He's the sort who's going to need a long run of match starts to get match sharp. And that will mean playing him two games a week if need be.

Biggest knee jerk ever.

Sad post.

Over spending on Lukaku?

Jesus Christ. Do you remember playing with Steve Watson up front?

I think I've missread that post actually...."over spending 24mil" I read it as he spent 24mil too many.

Apologies, as you were...

1) he's had a recurring foot injury he aggravated against Burnley - did you see him limp off?
2) despite this he's played in every game this season, either as a starter or a sub, the only outfield player to do so.
