How can pointing out that one of our players has already put in a transfer request, in response to somebody else claiming the players will not leave because they buy into the manager, possibly be irrelevant? What an irrelevant point.
He handed in a transfer request because he was being offered trebble his wages to go to the current champions.
The battle is never over with 4 home wins in 8 months. Its nice to see The Plotters out and about today.

'Watmore gets clear through on goal, but tries to lift the ball over Howard, who stands tall and palms the ball away. For all their defensive woes, Sunderland have had lots of chances to score today. A moment later, Howard makes two more saves, with Defoe and Larsson both trying their luck. After a poor performance last week, Howard has been excellent.'
That's a quote from the very first match report that came up on google. Lots of chances, Howard excellent. Doesn't sound like there were a load of pot shots that didn't trouble him. But hey, you know best. We dominate every game from start to finish and only fail to win due to some sort of curse. Got it.
Here he is!Its nice to see The Plotters out and about today.

Stones didn't hand in that transfer request because he doesn't 'buy into the manager', though?
If he really bought into the manager he would feel his career would be best suited even in the short term by staying. If he really bought into the manager he wouldn't move for the sake of a couple of seasons at a higher wage
He didnt move tho mate.
He could have got the move, quite easily, all he had to do was push the transfer request, the ball was firmly in Chelsea court at that point, it would have only take 1 more bid, but Chelsea backed off, why do you think that was?

I honestly think you've got me all wrong mate. Don't tell the mods, but I use this thread like a general performance thread rather than Martinez specifically. Most of my comments are about the team performance, not just the manager. No, I don't know best. I'm not saying that we dominate every game.
In that game I don't believe Howard had to pull off any extremely great saves bar the first one he made. He made a couple of decent stops but ones that if Foster had made the other day you'd have said didn't count as a chance for us...
What I am saying is that if we took more of the chances we regularly create, our defensive issues wouldn't really matter...
It's not like last season when we were crap going forward and crap at the back - so it's just frustrating we haven't been able to put more of the chances away...
