Roberto Martinez discussion

Yes mate there doesn't seem to be much about us in terms of desire. Think it's also confidence based too like.

Suppose we'll see. He's a got a wee bit of money in the bank with us due to being sound last year so hope he finds a way out of it.

Very dull to watch now like.

Very, but I see players out of form in a team that keeps getting kicked in the balls by unforced errors by one of the players. I don't think this is about spending.

I am pretty certain we will have our turning point and these same players will get back to a decent level. Even if that turning point league-wise is taking longer than I thought.

No problem mate.

Agree with a lot you said. I hate to see managers getting fired left, right and centre after a few bad results myself. Should leave that to the Spurs, RS's of this world. However, I'm getting a bit worried about the supposed lack of fighting spirit in our players under Martinez this season. Could just be a confidence factor though as chico already said.

big time.

I am very sure its confidence. We started sprightly enough in both games this week. Passing quicker, even if not incisive enough, and then individuals have brainfarts and the whole team drops their heads.

sorry daz, I think i've said this to you before, but this is just a nonsense. I know you want to hear certain things, but what a manager says after a game makes no difference. Every manager at this level can put the boot in and be tough, I wouldn't spend a split second worrying that he can't when needs be.
To a point I agree. I always believe a manager wouldn't get to this level, without having a ruthless side to them. Press talk can simply be rhetoric.

However, his statements post match today are bordering on delusional, especially considering how poor we were.

Either it makes a mockery of the fans who actually watched the match, or maybe (just maybe) he isn't actually seeing our problems.

Some may say his rigidity with regards to tactics and 'confusing' selection (both who starts and subs who come on), would support the latter.

Basically, I think it would put the fans at ease to know he's unhappy as well with today's performance, rather than painting over the cracks.
