Roberto Martinez discussion

You missed my point mate. I dont want this rubbish to continue, unchecked, anymore than you do. But we have both seen what he can do. If the new boss sets him a 10 game target to replicate that, I will have no complaints if he meets it.

Would you?

If he reverts to type. Bin.

My personal opinion is that he would walk if given an ultimatum to change.
In fact he would have to if he believes so much in his system.

I'm not sure his services will be in great demand when Everton eventually stop being stupid and get rid of him. The top clubs would clearly not go near him, and I doubt the likes of Newcastle or Sunderland would be interested in him either. He'd end up taking clubs like them down to the Championship.

Not arsed really. He can do it, if he refuses to/cant, then can him.

But Moshiri calls the tune.

The funny part for me is this: when the oligarch's bag carrier 'took over' last week there was general acceptance that there's be another season for Martinez, a feeling reinforced with the Villa win. Then we lose another home game and the roof caves in for some and that's it - Martinez Out!

Sorry, it makes no sense to me. Not one bit of it. The fickleness of it all is scary. I realise it's social media and no one acts in that massive mood swing fashion in real life, but nevertheless.

Martinez is in the post and it'll take some shifting to get him out of it.

We win against Chelsea and the fickle turn 180 degrees again. We all know this to be the case. Plus ca change.

its how it happened that's sent people crazy, if we'd lost 2 -1 after mirallas getting sent off there wouldn't be too much complaining...

There's more than me been calling for his head longer than me. I'm off the fence, and have since painted it thick with vandal grease to make sure I'm not climbing back on it.

You think you can call how others think but you can't even call the next result. And leicester are even further clear.....

Turn it in.

That performance was as bad as anything served up this season

No it won't unless he wins the cup. The problem is still here and hasn't been fixed. The league form is the main problem.

I'm the same.

I think he needs to show clear signs of being capable of turning it around in the rest of this season though.

If he doesn't get top half then I think we have to part company.

If we win the cup or finish top 10 then he gets time at the start of the season but if he fails to have a good start, he goes.

Again though, in the grand scheme of things the only targets he has to meet are what the owner sets him - as you point out

Problem then BT is, a) How do you define "fails to have a good start" and how long do you give him? b) Who's available then? Surely any decent replacements will be in jobs and highly unlikely to jump ship 8-10 games into a season?

If he is going to go it has to be end of the season, give his replacement the money to spend, and a pre season with the squad. At the moment though it's all ifs buts and maybes. The next two games could tell us a lot more, and hopefully by then Mr Moshiri will have his feet under the table and (hopefully) we'll all know a bit more about his future plans!

Let's see what happens lads. The power dynamic at the club isn't on the dissident's side. And a win against Chelsea and a Wembley date is a boost for the whole organisation.

Fever broken.
