Roberto Martinez discussion

He gives you the feeling that anything is possible.

The team is playing the best football I have seen us play since the mid-1980s.

Far better than anything Moyes ever served up - and yes Moyes did have us playing some nice stuff in the last 18 months of his reign, but nowhere near the quality of what we're seeing right now.

He's transformed the club's way of thinking too. And it isn't all based on loans, that's such horsepoo spouted by the moronic non-Evertonian biased media, who are always looking for a negative slant to pull us down, because the last thing the media wants is 2 major clubs on Merseyside doing well.

The bit I love most about the positivity he has brought is the self belief of the players that they can actually play football against any team in the division home and away that will be of sufficient quality to win more times than not. This extends not just to his strongest 15 or so but to everyone who puts on the RBJ. He has completely banished the idea that there are some opponents that you just can't beat. He recognises their strengths but clearly makes them believe that WE can win any way. Emphasis on WE. He talks like he feels what fans feel.

Brilliant Man. Football may be his calling, but he would have been a success in many other walks of life.

He makes football about the "us" (us as in "we", not the USA).

Compare that to Moyes.. saying "we need to make ourselves harder to play against." - he makes football about them, about the opposition. Worrying about how to stop the other team, rather than working on how to make his own team play to its potential.

During Roberto Martinez's unveiling as the new Everton manager, chairman Bill Kenwright revealed the Spaniard had promised to deliver Champions League football to Goodison Park.

It's fair to say the comment raised a few eyebrows. How could Everton compete with the likes of Manchester United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool on a shoestring budget?

It has now become apparent football Everton fans up and down the country had been brainwashed by David Moyes during his eleven year spell in charge of the club.

That article was fantastic! That journalist HAS to be a blue, picking out our favourite Moyes quotes like "knife to a gun fight" etc.

If he isn't a blue, then I am very impressed with the research/knowledge behind it!

Ive been saying it for years but nobody would listen to me. he brainwashed people by constantly blaming others and putting the club down.

Really harsh on Moyes IMO. Compare the club Moyes took charge of with the position in which he left it – people should show at least a little bit of gratitude
