Roberto Martinez discussion

For a man that spent most of his playing career in england and all of his management over here and the fact he supposedley spends most of his spare time watching games, it does make you wonder if any of those games were in england cos either the bloke still thinks he’s at wigan or he still has’nt realised that he’s come to ‘just a tad bigger club’ (no disrespect to wigan, its not ur fault we came looking!! i know in a way he’s now working with mr whelans long lost brother in kenwright as far as chairmans go, but our transfer dealings shouldnt be the same and players now linked to the club just shows the bloke still hasnt woken up to who we are and what weve spent 137yrs building up! i do hope next season he makes me eat my words but gradually he’s killing me as it is!!

He's got 6 months to either sink or swim. There's one thing being loyal to a manager, another being irresponsible in your support of a manager.

His signings this summer are massive! We can't afford anymore McGeady's and the likes that's for sure.

If he retains pl status next season the board will keep him regardless of what the fans do (which would be nothing by the way apart from shushing those with the temerity to boo).

£1.5M

Lol.

What we cant afford is to have Kenwright and his fellow carpet baggers take possession of this years £35M TV cash and keep hold of it themselves and not release it for transfers/wages.

THAT'S what we cant afford to happen.

looks like it's already happening, when we look at the type of players we are supposedly being interested in.

Martinez intimated a few days ago that he'd move for low hanging fruit type of signings early, and then look to tie up others later in the window:

our business could happen in a much smoother manner and we will try to do it as quickly as we can with some of our targets. Others we will try to bring in late because of the type of player that we need to bring in.

That's hopefully where Cleverly fits in and he has cash to spend in key areas on specialist role players.

1.5m, plus 1m signing on fee, plus 50k a week wages over 4 years.

We cant afford to have utter no marks littering the squad David.

Still nothing in the grand scheme of football deals/contracts.

Dont forget, Everton will get a higher sell on fee too, which means it's down to wages...and they all get wages.

Let's hope so Dave. He talks the talk martinez that's for sure.

I won't hold it against him bringing Cleverley in. 25yr old england international free who SAF used a lot. Not a bad deal imo given the age of pienaar and Osman

It's what he does the rest of the summer that worries me.

Sell on fee?

Who is going to buy such an eyesore of a player?

All these failed transfers add up, your Kones, McGeadys, they take vital money away from the club and leave us without room to get in actual footballers. The Spanish fraud wont have Moyes signings to bail him out for much longer, its about time he started to sign some actual footballers.

The list of broken promises gets longer daily, Distin, Mirallas, Garbutt, Eto'o and now McCarthy.
