Roberto Martinez discussion

We're a possession team doing that to a level that controls games against elite clubs...and after Martinez has had roughly 8 months to stamp these players with this brand of football.

You're very sanguine about that achievement, I must say. Maybe you'd like the PL title next season and the European Cup the year after to keep the momentum up?

The expectation levels amongst some given Martinez's short period of his time in charge are bizarre.

usually you are full of s••• mate but that post is 100% correct.

Possession is boring, Goals are great, if only we would of bought 2 strikers (and not Troare) i think we would definately have qualified for CL but unfortunately were slipping down the league, looking back at Roberto's prefered type of strikers though i'm not convinced we'll ever have enough fire power up top, he likes his forwards to be able to bring other players into play and hold the ball up but i'd much prefer a couple of out and out strikers, goals win games, we are so predictable in the sense that it seems that we allways hinder ourselves by not doing something when we need to do it

Defo mate. He was second best there today, no question. And he knew it. His analysis - when you stripped it down to bare bones - was that Chelsea were basically not able to get a foothold until late on in the game and the reason it was still in the balance by then was because we have no goalscoring threat at the moment.

I was expecting some arse covering by Mourinho, but fair dos,he conceded the ground over dominance.

I think today proved Roberto is the man to bring us to next level, I was surprised how easily we controlled the midfield against a midfield which cost about £125m.

It's only 8 months in, and I'm sure Roberto knows the striker is the big thing he needs, defence and midfield was brilliant today

Striker and a playmaker and we'll be picking up points every game.

Biggest summer in this feller's career coming up.

I thought it would take longer than 8months to do it myself.
I'm just saying everyone is made up that a possession team outplayed a counter attacking team.
If we are a top team ourselves then it should happen

Worrying away form. 2 points from last 5 aways, with 3 straight defeats without scoring. Last away win was Swansea in December.

Yip January window we should of done more than buy a 17 year old goalie, Traore deal was just a waste of time, i'm sooo pissed off, we don't even look like scoring tbh, can't see us scoring no more than ten goals in the league from now till the end of the season

Our overall form has slowed down since the turn of the year

2 wins in 7 compared to 5 wins in the previous 7

It shows the lack of new bodies in January to cover injuries has slowed our form down
