We have all had the stuffing knocked out of us by an absolute tripe january window, injuries etc I think even Martinez will have been slightly knocked back by it a bit as we don't seem to be getting any breaks injury wise. BUT, he's half way through his first season and will be learning a lot about the squad, what he has at his disposal for the summer and a lot about the fans and the sheer desperation to get us some silverware and mixing it with the so called big boys again. We have seen glimpes, he's dropped a bollock or 2 and there's no hiding from that but I think he's on the right lines. Win on Saturday will do us all the world of good and set us up for a massive FA Cup game next week.

Watched the game for a second time, and tactically Martinez had it all over Mourinho. They were completely shut down in the final third, and while we didn't create much we still had the better chances. Just needed Mirallas to actually hit the ball right.

Agreed mate. Same happened against Spurs. In fact the only 2 games this season where we were utterly crap was Liverpool away and Palace away. Apart from that we have been in every game and in the running for 3 points or a point. Honestly, 3 points and a good performance on Saturday will have us all feeling a lot more positive heading into the fa cup. Its been turd getting beat against spurs, palace postponed and losing against Chelsea whilst at the same time the [Poor language removed] and spurs ticking along nicely whilst we have stalled.

i suppose it is a positive that i've not once heard him moan about our horrendous injuries.

i whine about it all the time and i would spread a negative influence throughout the squad. we haven't seen that with everton, even if our results say otherwise. just hope with such players coming back, especially our top scorer and winnable games in a row, we can claw those deserved points back and finish strongly
