Roberto Martinez discussion

Played a backline with 3 first-team players out (including 2 full backs that are crucial to our playing style) and played 2x19 year olds and someone making their 2nd full start in the derby - and you wouldn't have known it. Annoying for Howard on the goal but otherwise kept them very quiet

But Martinez can't marshall a defense yeah

Just to warn you all...I think @chicoazul is prepping a big vaulting spree on Martinez, he just liked a post of mine from 7 months ago in a Martinez threat. Possibly to tag it for vaulting.

No one is safe if we win something this season.
Hahahaha. Nah I was just having a pleasant read through some troubled times on here.

I'm glad we stuck with him.

Me too mate. Was worried he wouldn't make it at points but was always rooting for him. He's a man with a long-term plan - which will include painful learning curves at time - and I think we're genuinely probably the only team in the Prem who will give him the time to execute that plan.

Aye agreed. The odds are against him achieving with his plan as our best players will be pilfered at some point but at least he has a clear strategy for medium and long term, and importantly one which is delivering bit of success now.

The time and patience we show to our managers and young players will be noted by both categories and should benefit Everton for a few years yet.

It seems like he's only been here five minutes, but he's now the 6th longest serving current Premier League manager. Wenger, Howe, Hughes, Mourinho and Pellegrini are the only longer serving managers.

He seems like he's actually got a long term vision for the club unlike many managers, and I think last season proves that, like Moyes, he'll be given time.
