Roberto Martinez discussion

This is what i wanted from now till next summer:

1-- Top 6 finish
2-- Young players given a chance
3-- Martinez to show he can sell/release players who arent at the level we need nor have the potential to be at that level.
4-- Past it players to go when their contracts are up Hibbert/Osman/Pienaar/Kone.
5--Sign Butland or similar and sell Howard
6-- Sign a playmaker
7-- Sign a top young forward to compete with Lukaku

We look on course for 1+2 this season. The main thing for me is to see donkeys like McGeady gone and others released and sold with a lot of emphasis on finding the 3 players we need to push on.
hopefully Rodriguez can be that forward.

What Chelsea suffers this season, is what we suffered last season.
Sudden downgrade of Terry/ Ivanovic/ Distin.
Error became critical in conceding goals.
Manager cannot always control that.
But i think the discipline was there last season.

The defence was good even we used Galloway, Browning and Funes Mori.
Give some credit to Martinez. He even never moaned about the injuries.
Chelsea don't have near the injury problems we had. They're just all massively off form.

No.....we went on the seven game run after Anfield.

I always put our failure to make the CL that season diwn to an Act of some malign Gid.

We were due to play Palace a couple months earlier when they were still struggling a bit.

A hurricane blew up from nowhere and the game was called off even as I was walking along Westminster Road.

By the time we played the re-arranged fixture they had picked up a bit and the rest is history :(.

Yep, advertisement hoardings falling onto the pitch put paid to that game. By the time we played them they'd changed managers and went on a rip roaring run.

But lets be honest - the winner of the Everton Arsenal game ought to have gone on to claim 4th. We won with aplomb and frankly, we blew it after that. We've only ourselves to blame.

By my reckoning Robles would have been in goal for about 4-5 of them goals..

#betterthandegea

and in goal for the 3 consecutive clean sheets.

something howard took half of the season to amass. just because we haven't let in goals does it mean howard haters can shut up. I'm sure you're winding up on this subject because every other topic you speak sense.

Martinez though ...

My take on the Martinez In/Out chat is this:

I never WANTED to sack him, but there was a few times where it was becoming extremely concerning. I voted a few times to get rid because it was looking very precarious and felt a new manager might save us from what was looking like relegation. But I'm also really glad things are picking up. Right now I do not want him sacked.

I'm sure there's many who have a similar view.
