would you rather be wrong ?

The fans will get behind him, no doubt about that but you can,t ignore what has gone before and personally I think he will never get a bigger job than everton. If I am right then he will get sussed out within his first 2 seasons at everton.

IF he does get one and everything points to that then I am saying he will be gone before he sees out his new contract with everton.

It,s about opinions right...so that,s mine.

Time will tell.

That works for me.

Either he is so successful some mega club comes along and buys the contract out......or he is crap and we sack him.

Just so long as he isn't allowed to run his contract down in the same shameless, cynical fashion the still current manager of EFC is doing.

Bluerrgghhh. That's my reaction. Ralf or Vitor please.

Fancy football is no match for discipline, strategy, teamwork, coaching and the pursuit of excellence. Even if you see his relegation as being cancelled out by his FA cup win, he still guided his team to the arse end of the premier league every season. And we are NOT much better than that. The team is aging, is about to be potentially broken up, was led by a talismanic manager. A manager like Martinez (vastly different from Moyes) will undo all of that in two seasons. Is that what we want?

I can only hope someone like Vitor or Ralf are more in the Moyes mould and can continue his work but like most EFC fans this looks like a predictably done deal with Martinez.

Thats a pretty ****ing decent post that sire

Vitor and Ralph are nothing like moyes either so could quite easily mess us up within two seasons!

And we're not an old squad!!!! Compare us too the champions, were not old!!!
Ok we need some younger additions looking forward but distin is the only imminent problem. Jags has a fair few yrs left..after that ossie and pienaar are the wrong side of 30??!! No major big deal, but of course needs an eye keeping on it.

As for Martinez, IF he gets the job I think this really is make or break for him in England. A true test with better players, if he's all he's cracked up to be it should work buitifully! If it doesn't he'll be off back to Spain managing lower level teams there.

For those who are strongly against Martinez because of his win % ratio. If you compare him to Brendan Rodgers then you can see a similar reflection In the clubs they managed as to which by no means determines how they are going to do at a bigger club.

Swansea
Martinez 50%
Rodgers 40%

Reading
Rodgers 26%

Wigan
Martinez 29%

When recruiting a manager you have to look at the other variables than just the win %. I agree the relegation is not favourable when applying for our club but as pointed out already there are other top managers who have been relegated earlier on in their careers.

What are your thoughts on Ralf getting sacked with his team in the relegation zone of the bundesliga twice?
