Could the people who are interested in who's the current favourite with the bookies, open a seperate thread please. I'm losing the will to live as it is, without reading that a particular candidate is down to 4-1 at William Hill so it's bound to be him.

It's Martinez.

It'll never be Vitor - he wont be seen as "Everton's Type" - he'd rock the boat.
It'll only be Rangnick if Bill doesn't want to pay the compensation, or Martinez doesn't fancy it (Doesn't receive the assurances he'd have sought in his first meeting)

Can't disagree with any of this. I'll be gobsmacked if it isn't Martinez.

One of the most depressing things about this new manager process has been the ex-players coming out with their barbed comments about people associated with the job. Greats they may have been in the past, but a lot of them are on a good thing by keeping the whole thing in-house (or getting their preferred candidate in). They should keep their grids shut because they're motives are inevitably suspect and any respect for them is disappearing fast with many blues.

Agreed. They normally always irritate me. I think it would be easier to deny if they were my actual heroes from their playing days, so I can see why people have trouble with it.

Yep.

The thing with Stubbs really pissed me off. At one stage everybody was half-expecting him to be named boss, why? Because he had a short spell with us and is a boyhood Evertonian? As far as I can remember, when he was with us, he was hardly world class, was he? Infact, I'd go as far as to say he was ****e, a real slogger with no skill whatsoever. Plus from what I know and have heard about him, he is thick as pig****e and hasn't earned anything.

I'd be genuinely furious if he was ever trusted with becoming manager of Everton.

Spot on!!!!

It's why the majority want Vitor Pereira.. to shake things up.

Martinez comes across as a safe Kenwright selection. Why take risks when you can bring Martinez in and continue to finish in the top half. Kenwright thinks Evertonians are content with that, whilst he remains chairman and continues to play the "I'm looking for an investor 24/7" card.

Who knows, maybe Martinez's plans for the club aren't as vanilla as we all think which has forced Kenwright to have second thoughts.

Exactly.

Bungling Bill wont appoint Pereira as it will up the ante and focus eyes on the top 4 every season and that will put pressure on the worlds greatest Evertonian to deliver that.

Agree. 2013/14 - will be the most open season yet. If he was ever going to take a risk, the time is now.

Can anyone answer this and apologies if it has been answered already but Martinez said he would make a statement tomorrow on his future which is fine but what's puzzling me is if Martinez is Bills New manager surely it'll be the club to release a statement? Or am I missing something....

Martinez will make a statement about leavign Wigan and 5 minutes later Kenwright will announce that Martinez is new Everton manager. My guess at least.

Yes,it's something I can't get my head around,It's when Bill is going to make an announcement IMO

He didn't say anything about making a statement i don't think. A reporter asked him if he had any news and he said no, maybe on monday.
