I really think we will struggle with Martinez and I'm really unhappy he's coming ,I don't think he's a premier manager, his defence tactics are at best inept and he doesn't appear to be able to criticise any poor performances from his teams.

I will of course get behind the lads on the pitch as I think we all will no matter what our thoughts are on the manager, I hope I'm completely wrong in my opinion of him but I don't think I am.

I am excited lads, Honestly, New start and all that

Who knows whats around the corner

This time next year we could be millionares

Too right Del. It'll be like opening a window on a rancid room at Everton getting this lad in. I hope he hits the ground running and sorts that striking department out ASAP!

SSN going through his PL stats and it's a depressing read.

If in 12 months time they're going through his stats at Everton and they're a depressing read, then be worried, but we're at a completely different level to Wigan. He could do great things here.

That's what the doubters think too. However, we shall at least give him a chance, a season maybe.

I hope Vellios, Duffy and Barkley get a good look in now, they'll be like new signings in themselves if they get an extended run.

Why it is rubbish
His wage bill is 38 million a year, ours is 68 million, he made a profit of 2 million this season in transfers, his rivals such as Villa and sunderland, Newcastle all in -20 million, and double the wage bill of wigan, Martinez had no chance.

It is a myth that his teams play this amazing attacking football. It is staggering to me, that a top 8 side can not only appoint a manager who has been relegated, but that their fans welcome it.

You will all be reminiscing about the sixth placed trophy in seasons to come.

I've always thought our best eleven would beat most teams if they were just told to go out and go for it every week. If Roberto holds the squad together and adds a couple of players we might just see the best of our current set of players. When moyes let them play we looked good, hopefully this season we'll be better! Fingers crossed!

Can't help but feel this is the start of the big slide. We don't have any financial muscle at all and Moyes kept us above and beyond where we should have been.

Martinez won't do that in my opinion.

BUT, welcome Roberto I'll be behind you 100%, to start with anyway.

You now have your chance to prove to everybody that you're a very good football manager. No excuses, no hiding behind low wage bills and poor squads, you have a lot to prove son.
