I'm not enthralled with the hire, but in my mind if you don't support Martinez before he's spent a pound or managed a game, then you don't support Everton Football Club. None of us has the foggiest idea of what will happen next, so there's no sense in railing against him or doing the Debbie Downer act. It's not as if we can put pressure on the club to hire someone else, this is much more than changing a badge.

Could be set for a bumpy ride here lads. From the look of it Martinez hasn't spoken to Kenwright yet - so he's not exactly likely to be bowled over by the transfer kitty is he?

Reports say he had a 2nd interview because BK could not answer questions from him in the first interview - so I am sure he knows what budget he will have - Martinez for me was the only candidate as he is very good at finding gems of player for a few million abroad & then selling them for a big mark up on if need be - if we were owned by a billionaire then we could have aimed higher, but BK can only offer our traditions & training facilities & a bigger fanbase- Martinez can prosper under our club -think back to the quarter final at Goodison park - we did not see the ball that day -keep the faith & give him a chance!

For all the bad press Moyes got on here, Everton played well better football than Wigan. You only have to look at the Mirallas goal in our last home game. I just can't understand people pleased with this. What are yous expecting next season?

We played some very good football at times under Moyes, but not regularly enough. But comparing Everton and Wigan is daft, we've got some fantastic players, Wigan... don't.

I think next season will be a transition season, so we'll probably finish about 8th.

All the debating about Managerial appointments have to end now. Martinez has been chosen (near enough) and that's an end of it.

Since when did Everton Football Club become the same as teams like Chelsea, Man City and more recently, Stoke, by going against their manager from day one.

I for one was one of the people wanting to see Perreira appointed, but we have to trust in our chairman until we have reason not to trust.

"Nil Satis Nisi Optimum" should be a phrase that applies to the fans just as much as the players and staff. We pride ourselves on being the best fans in England. Now lets show some class by going against the grain and supporting our new Manager.
