You know what's be boss? If we could find it in ourselves to get behind our new manager, give him at least, yano, the chance to pose with the shirt before we start tearing strips off the guy.

Welcome to the blues, bobby. If you win us games then ill love you. If not you can jog on. In the meantime, ill give him a game or two before I make a decision.

When Moyes came in, Everton were constantly in the bottom half of the table. Everton are now regularly in the top half

Thus, Martinez has to maintain the teams current progress of at the very least do just slightly worse

Relegation dog fight is too much of a drop from where the team is now, so logic dictates he should be sacked

Can this negativity stop now please ?

We have a new manager who is 1st the choice of most of the fans it seems. Those fans who had a different 1st choice argued their man's case but it didn't prevail. It's time to put the pitchforks down and support the new manager. He'll need it.

Personally really looking forward to this and the inevitable changes there will be in our approach. Welcome Roberto.

I will go the game and get behind the manager 100% but I think the future is not so bright due to his record and managerial abilities. Is that alright?

First comment on that article:

He came as a very wealthy man and had Kenny Jackett and Roberto Martinez as predecessors who had laid foundations. He was a very wealthy man of independent means and although he had a great personal playing pedigree, he failed dismally to develop any players ,those he bought in were flawed and generally expensive having failed at previous clubs.

His approach was typically portuguese and owed more to getting everyone behind the ball.He communicated poorly with the players and seldom had a serious tactical approach for individual games.Anyone who wants confirmation should read Gary Monk's autobiography.
It was the kindest thing the Leicester ever did in poaching him away from us.

You don't really believe that do you mate?

I do mate. Look at Villa a few years ago, when they had Downing when he was good, likewise Barry, Ashley Young etc. and finished close to us a few seasons on the bounce. Sold their better players and never replaced them well enough, and they inevitably slipped down the table. If we sold a player, Moyes would replace them most of the time really well. I hope Martinez can, but as i say, I don't think feel confident.

He will get my support but if you look at that Wigan team and yes they don't have much money to spend on transfers or wages but they should have stayed up in my opinion. Worse teams in the league than them but personally I think it was Martinez tactics and blindness of all out attack mentality that got them relegated. If you look at Jewell's team compared to this one which finished 12th or something, Jewell's team was much worse.

It was Sunderland and Newcastle who finished just above Wigan, whose expenditure dwarfs that of Wigan Athletic.

Are Wigan any bigger than the likes of Burnley?

with the exception of General Franco, and flick-knives concealed within silk shirts

I think Spanish stuff is usually good
