Made up. Guna be some attacking football at Goodison next season. Kev Mirallas will turn into a £30m winger and Nikica Jelavic a 20 goal a season Everton hero.

Out with the 4-5-1 hoofball. We'll be playing like Arsenal.

Only similarity with Arsenal is they win sweet fa too

It's obvious that we'll improve 'football' wise... but I just can't see Martinez being able to progress us into CL places.

How is that obvious? You'd think Wigan played like Barcelona!

They didn't, they were crap, and got mullered frequently.

I bet some of the clowns championing Benitez are ****ging Martinez for being poor in the transfer market, even when its not true. His record is better than most. I'm one of the rare few who think he's going to be a success here. His tactics will be well suited to quality players such as ours. Imagine a top 3 of:

Mirallas (last seasons) Jelavic Barkley

There is no way that he will improve on Moyes progress.

We will finish about 10th and everyone will except it, with many of our fans making the same excuses as Martinez.

Top 4? No chance.

TBH I would be happier with 10th and an FA Cup win and not lying down at the top teams (and Liverpool)

Couldnt with Moyes either. I know he did it once, and we knocked on the door as well, but a change is needed, IMO. No sleight on Moyes, who I am grateful for what he did. I veer between being mega excited at how RM could get the side playing, and fearful when I look at his PL record.

Born optimist me, so super sexy footie, and win some of those annoying matches that elluded Moyes.

The difference between us and top 4 is about £30+m per season. End of the day Moyes couldn't break the top 4 so if Martinez can get anywhere close I'd be very happy. Our target has to be a domestic trophy or 5th position.i.e Europa league.

Moyes did break the top 4.
And if we hadn't have drawn ten games in a row through playing Neville and osman then we'd have been well in with a chance of top 4

We were one or two good players away from being good enough to get top4

...folk on here will know my preference is Martinez so I'm happy with developments. I add an air of caution, however. Although we are hearing the right noises, we all know that things like this are raely straightforward at Everton. I'm delighted with the direction of travel but I think the picture with the scarf might be a little way off.

he always plays 3-5-2 is a myth Speed, he doesn't however we have the players here to suit that formation so I wouldn't be too bothered if he did. It hasn't done Juventus any harm.

Fair enough, if he doesn't play it all the time then that's a good sign really since it shows tactical flexibility. I have my doubts whether 3-5-2 will suit us but then again after playing 4-5-1 for 11 years it'll be a big change regardless if we go 3-5-2, 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. Either way the best formation is the one that wins us games and I hope Martinez finds it and finds it fast.
