I think we need to react with a little more positivity, things seem so negative at the minute and a new, and a fresh young manager, lauded by many for his exploits with Wigan over the past four years, is good news in my book. The Manure fans reacted well to Moyes, yet for my money, they have even more to worry about with him than we would with Martinez. COYB!

More than prepared to give him a chance. If the board's choice will be the right one remains to be seen. Fact is that whoever we bring in will prove a risk. Always knew that replacing Moyes would be a gamble. Not too bothered that he got relegated with Wigan. It will be a completely different job for him at Everton. If the worst case happens, I'm convinced that even Martinez isn't 'good enough' to get us relegated next season.

I think Martinez does deserve a better job than Wigan but it's gonna be really hard to follow Davie Moyes. I think he could be worth a shot though.

Let's hope the fixture computer is kind to us and gives us Liverpool in the first game. Suarez banned and the new manager effect shoould mean we snot them good style.

Perhaps not but what about the season after?

I still say No to Martinez, the club needed a manager with winning credentials which on the basis of the PL Martinez has not got, never mind the FA Cup we are talking about playing nearly 40 games not a handful. Plenty of comment on the other thread about tactics or lack of them employed by Martinez.

Billy Liar is taking the easy way out, a more or less no cost option and on a lot less than Moyes was on.

I'm satisfied with Martinez. This may sound silly but I hope he knows how fortunate he is to land this job. You can say plenty of bad things about our club but we gave Moyes time and patience to do his job, I just hope Martinez is given the same patience. That includes us fans, too.
