But the lad said Martinez has his eye for bargains from South and Central America which is not true so I point that out.

Yeah, Browns sent me this.

La Liga - 5
Segunda or lower - 4
SPL - 6
Championship - 5
South America - 2
Bundesliga - 2
Portugal - 1
France - 1
Belgium - 1
Ukraine - 1
MLS - 1

He mostly picks up players from spain or britain.

I don't think Martinez would have resigned unless there were assurances that he had another job lined up. Whether that is with Everton remains to be seen but I'd say its pretty likely at this stage. On a side note tony Scott tweeted that Leroy Fer has remained in contact with Everton and is open to moving this summer. Regardless of who the manager is, I hope that we pursue some worthwhile additions.

I hope Martinez does not get involved in our summer transfer activity tbh. I trust what moyes was probably looking to bring in. Suppose Martinez if hired would have to be consulted as he would be selecting the team but hopefully for this summer he is not in complete charge of transfers.

Ridiculous.

Mr Martinez please come and show some of these poor Everton and Moyes fans of the last 11 years what silverware looks like -
they have become so used to mediocrity that anything else scares the living daylights out of them -
you can bring Kone to show Jelavic where the net is -
you can bring McManaman because Everton does not even have a right wing (and Moyes released him )-
you can bring Maloney/Espinoza to help the faltering Pienaar and Osman -
but above all get yourself here as soon as possible and tell Red Moyes to get on his United bicycle and go where he belongs -
Hope to see you soon

OMG WUT

Bring in Espinoza? ****ing hell. Go and have a lie down.

Have to say, Dave Whelan has stuck to his word about letting Martinez go a bigger club comes knocking:

Whelan revealed: "Bill Kenwright rang me last week and said if the talks with Roberto broke down, can he talk to him? Bill being the gentleman he is I said: 'Yes, you can have permission.' I have given permission immediately. I would expect and they would expect to pay the compensation. Everton are a fantastic club, local and similar to Wigan in how Bill controls it. They have a great fan-base and it is a happy club so I recommended to Roberto to go and talk to Everton."

are you serious? He'll still have our current scouts, not to mention the FM network...
LOL - I forgot about this, the lads who've always made the game are evertonians aren't they? aren't we the only ones who get to use it?

Got to say, I've wanted Martinez as soon as Moyes was off. Of course no deal is done yet, but it's now looking likely.
For those who are not convinced by him due to him overseeing a struggling team for the past 4 years, I think there needs to be a sense of reality here. Wigan have never been able to attract the calibre of player we can. Wigan's weakness all along has been their defence. As someone has already said, this can be worked on and bearing in mind we already have a relatively solid back 4, this doesn't concern me.
Wigan's strength under Martinez has always been that they play good football and are exciting to watch. Now this past season under Moyes (Particularly before xmas) we were very excting to watch. I believe Martinez can really build on this and make us more exciting next season. Granted, under a new manager it could go either way - brilliantly right or horribly wrong. I am quietly confident in envisaging the former.
Agree with this, best realistic option for me and there's even a chance he could improve us long term.

Anyone think he'll be appointed soon, or will we drag it on?
This is Everton, expect it to drag on and on, then in all likelihood get cancelled before we appoint Stubbs.

Seriously don't get what people have against kone raped us with a goal and assist at Wigan made me **** me pants when he was brought on in the 2-1 win plus he grabbed a goal and gave heitinga a free anal job in the quarters of the fa cup and geniunely looked very lively every time I've watched him

Please don't use that word for describing anything other than rape mate, cheers.
