Well he did beat us 3-0 at the Fortress of Goodison park. That only the Champions of Europe have won at this season in the league.

Why so negative on Martinez mate. I'm a fence sitter so just curious.

It's not that I'm so negative about Martinez, specifically. Rather, I loved Moyes on a slightly unhealthy level and can't see anyone doing as good a job as him, whoever they are. At least in the long term.

That is soh! inspired by RAWK poetry

Roberto, the thin Spanish waiter
Made from Dave's spare leg and JJB sports gear at half price
Spent an unhappy time in Motherwell the daft bugger
But so did Jimmy Mac - he was a hero, we'll he was once (or twice)
But at least he's not Kenny Dogsh1te, another Scottish hero who came back for more
And we definitely don't want Kendall or Smith or Walker back - capiche Bill?
So get on the blower to Porto pronto and get Jenny to make some more eggs
Cos if you hire Stubbsy we'll send you his spare ball in the post
Just like Kopites send bullets to people they don't like
Only kidding about the last bit by the way Bill - can you get off the phone now
Instead of searching 24/7 for a new investor and a new manager and a new ground,
And listen to the fans - Thanks for the new badge eh Bill

Inspired by RAWK - frankly a load of crap.

Must I say, while reading this fine piece of artwork I was astonished how deep and wonderful it actually is. Have you ever considered entering the prestigious Poetry Society?

Happy with this. He's a superb tactician as he's shown this season. However this will be a major step up for him so we all need to get behind him immediately. Anyone writing him off before he has even joined should take either a long hard look at themselves in the mirror or stop following football.

The biggest worry over the next couple of days is that it breaks down over terms/funds available/vision for the club, etc. That would be unforgiveable. Yes, talking about you Bill.

Agree entirely there's a hundred identakit Moyes clones - we need to try something different to have a chance of winning something.

That's about it really mate. We either get ridiculous amounts of money invested which won't happen (and i wouldnt want it to) or we appoint a manager who can get that little bit extra out of the great team Moyes has put together. Someone who lets the shackles off, always speaks positive, does not fear anyone and sends his team out with a positive mentality to attack and win games.

Martinez lets players express themselves, he will make use of our excellent youth set up and I'm hoping he'll be prepared to sell high, instead of paying players ridiculous contracts we cant afford and back his judgement to reinvest that money again.

Of course there's question marks over Martinez, if there wasn't he wouldn't be here as someone else woud of took him but I believe all his attributes are exactly what this club needs. When his teams are good, they are very, very good. I'm hoping he's learnt from his previous mistakes and with the higher quality of player we have here he can address the problems he's had in the past and get that very, very good out on the pitch a lot more.

I'm flattered, but seriously I'll leave that to my lad who really CAN write poetry (just finished his last year at Liverpool Uni graduating in English).

I can understand that mate. I honestly think that if we drop like a lead baloon, mysterious money will arrive to purchase players once again on a shoe string and somehow we will survive. I don't know what our share holders and associates think or do, but recent history says they want the club to stay in the Premier League, and so it carries on.

If Martinez comes in, then we may well see things with existing players that we've never seen before, who knows. It's very unsettling for me, but the season has just finished which is better than this all happening mid season in my opinion.

Everyone knows Ross Barkley never got a sniff under Moyes then when he leaves a few weeks later I get a circulated email from the club entitled something like "Ross targets more game time.." And lets face it, few managers would have him benched so much given the squad size. It's just another day on the roller coaster that is Everton I suppose.

Bobby arrives in a shiny suit telling his critics "suck my root"

they whine and groan "do you mean your cock?"

"of course" he smiles "it's blackpool rock"

Mike Walker all over again

The 2 million will be saved by not paying DM's new 70k per week in his new contract he would not sign - only if our chairman had the idea of having a buy out clause so the biggest club in the prem take him for nothing!
